Nebraska Prep Dig Showcase Alums Shine at AAU Nationals (Pt. 2)

We've ramped up the anticipation for this event by revisiting star athletes from past showcase outings, with a particular focus on standouts from postseason play. Most lefty terminators are automatically slotted into the opposite position, but Bellamy has spent time at both pins throughout her prep career. She was primarily a right-side hitter at AAU Nationals and logged some exceptional reps in the back row for VCN 17 Black. This explosive left-side hitter was building off an unforgettable late-season surge with Banzai VBC and brought even more highlight moments to our showcase. Moone has never been daunted by playing up a year and was an underclassman contributor to Papio South's 2024 state title. This Gretna High School junior exhibited her versatility at one of our showcases, providing us with a perfect preview of her stint with Nebraska Elite 16 Apex. Hilderbrand is the kind of pin hitter who can take over in the front row or anchor the middle-back area as a do-everything substitute. Bahle was the clear defensive leader for this year's Nebraska Elite 16 Surge squad, which enjoyed several deep runs at major events. Last year's showcase circuit revealed Bahle's passing prowess in the backcourt and her quality second contacts as a step-in setter. This year's 16 Alpha roster featured a long list of past showcase stars, and Samuelson headlined that group at the middle blocker spot. We have fond memories of Samuelson's over-the-top termination and relentless pursuit during six-on-six drills. She has brought that into a club season that has featured several Gold bracket trips, including 16 Alpha's final outing at AAU Nationals. Wallraff made the most of her first impression and was one of the strongest all-around defenders in the gym. We've seen Wallraff flourish with [program_tooltip program_id='428717' first='Nebraska' last='ONE'] 16 Synergy, culminating in the team's podium finish in AAU's 16 Open division. This is another prototypical 'L2' who can do almost anything you could ask of a left-side attacker. Stengel has an uncanny ability to tool off the block and turn an out-of-system situation into a routine kill.
