Austin Kingsley | Prep Dig Scout
Bellamy has long been a “change-up” hitter in the VCNebraska gym. Most lefty terminators are automatically slotted into the opposite position, but Bellamy has spent time at both pins throughout her prep career. She was primarily a right-side hitter at AAU Nationals and logged some exceptional reps in the back row for VCN 17 Black. Bellamy’s versatility lifted 17 Black to several head-turning results in 2025, setting the stage for another tournament push with Lincoln Southwest this fall.

It’s rare to see a lefty with a wealth of experience as a left-side hitter, but that was a hallmark of Bellamy’s past contributions to VCNebraska . Now, this Lincoln Southwest attacker is spending more time on the right side and is thriving with a revamped 17 Black squad. Bellamy produced indefensible angles at NLQ and could get on top of the ball quickly when the tempo was turned up. A trip to the final 17 Liberty bracket will give Bellamy positive momentum before the mid-February grind.

Let’s credit another one of VCNebraska 16 Elite’s six-rotation assets. We’ve documented Bellamy’s oscillation between the left and right pins throughout the season. She’s a rare lefty athlete who can bring serious heat at positions other than opposite. Her tenure on the left side is also backed up by some strong middle-back defense, where Bellamy is not afraid to absorb some contact. She and Haase have worked to form an impenetrable passing unit that is making big strides at GJNC.

Left-handed hitters usually end up on at opposite by default. Sure, we’ve seen Bellamy excel as a right-side hitter while bringing all the skills you’d want at the position. But this is a feature about multi-position stars, and VCNebraska 16 Elite is not afraid to use its lefty on the left pin. Bellamy has seen extended stints on the outside and is making the most of this unusual combination. She sees opposing blocks well and gets on top of tempo balls quickly. We’re ready to see which pin prevails in Vegas.

We’ll always jump at the opportunity to talk about a lefty playing on the left side. It’s a rare feat that Bellamy has mastered in 2024. It’s hard to say whether this niche is by necessity or if Bellamy prefers this unusual role. Either way, she put up big numbers last weekend and helped VCNebraska 16 Elite make an extraordinary Sunday comeback. We won’t soon forget that effort.

We need some left-handed representation in this feature, and Bellamy is ready to bring it. This VCNebraska 16 Elite attacker has the rare ability to play on the left side while also being left-handed. Of course, Bellamy is also getting plenty of reps at opposite and shows off her range there. 16 Elite has a lot to build upon after last weekend’s Northern Lights Qualifier, especially with Bellamy reaching higher and higher.

We’ve discussed Bellamy’s unique role before. She’s a rare instance of a lefty attacker who spends much of her time on the left pin for VCN 15 Black. Bellamy harnessed this unusual combination and became a go-to scorer when 15 Black took on GJNC. The same can be said of Bellamy’s performance at the Stock Up Showcase, and her steady rise will be worth following at Lincoln Southwest.

Bellamy has emerged as a steady contributor for VCN 15 Black, and this is a roster that’s already loaded with talent on the pins. Whether she’s asked to be a go-to terminator in the frontcourt or help out with backcourt defense in a six-rotation capacity, Bellamy knows how to deliver. That clutch factor should be on display when 15 Black hits the road this summer.

Bellamy is one of many players on this feature who can play on either pin and succeed. The fun part about covering 15s is that few positions are completely set in stone. Either way, Bellamy’s hard-hitting offense provided a frequent boost to VCN 15 Black during its solid outing in Minneapolis.
