After watching her vocal leadership at our Freshman Showcase, her ability to chase down errant balls and keep her team in the play was evident from her arrival. Yes, she's small, but so are the rest of the DS's in our world. If you're gonna play this position, play big, which is exactly what Miss Beyer does. A word to the wise: if you're in a situation where everyone is the same, do something different to stand out. What did Cecelia do? Lead with the libero jersey on. Fully capable of playing multiple defensive positions at a high level, Miss Walborn can receive serve, defend the hard-driven ball and chase down an off-speed shot equally well. She plays longer than her 5'5” frame might suggest, and is efficient in her movements in both serve receive and defense. Those Tigers are known for their serve receive prowess, and Lauren is no exception. Our MVP of the Freshman Showcase this past July, Lauren is a vocal and physical leader on the court, and is more than capable of working with any combination of players, regardless of skill. Calm in her platform and active with her feet, Lauren's Munciana training shines through in her ball control, and should be an excellent libero for years to come.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
