More Up Next: SoCal Players Coaches Should Know

The Up Next: SoCal Showcase, held August 23, 2025, at Prime Volleyball Club in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, featured a wave of rising talent from the Classes of 2030–2032. Several young players showcased skills well beyond their age. They brought power and confidence that turned heads throughout the event. Here's who stood out:    Meilani is an athletic player who was jumping out of the gym and putting the ball down almost every time she was up to swing. She impressed from the start in self-toss drills and carried that energy throughout the entire showcase. At just 5'4”, she plays big, stayed aggressive throughout the event, and made a lasting impression with every swing. — Kantessa Bryant-Miller @prepdignv     Eva dominated the front row with some very impressive middle attacks. No one could stop her on the court, and she consistently put the ball down in the middle or anywhere else she got the opportunity to attack. She plays well beyond her years and made a major impact every time she stepped up. — Kantessa Bryant-Miller @prepdignv     Victoria has a bright future as an opposite hitter. She consistently drove the ball to the deep corner in zone 1, one of the toughest attacks for young players to pick up. She also showed she can play either pin, but the right side is already shaping up to be a perfect fit for her at the next level. — Kantessa Bryant-Miller @prepdignv     Kaeley has a beautiful jumpset and an insane vertical, one of the highest in the building, and she's only 5'2. She was an immediate standout among her peers and kept her team motivated throughout the showcase. In addition to running the offense, her athleticism shines when she attacks — she can really swing. Kaeley's quickness and vertical are tools that will take her far, and seeing her in person is truly a sight. — Kantessa Bryant-Miller @prepdignv     Seanoa is a big swinger who played much bigger than her size. She comes flying in on her approach and puts the ball down with authority. She worked the net offensively and defensively, showing good setting hands and a willingness to call for the ball. Her high reach when attacking is textbook, and she plays with a natural go-hard style. Athletic and gifted, Seanoa looked like one of the most competitive players in the gym. — Kantessa Bryant-Miller @prepdignv     Sahej is an all-around skilled player and a high-level lefty setter with a heavy arm swing. She was steady and reliable throughout the showcase, bringing both consistency and power. When attacking, she comes down hard on the ball, making her tough to defend. Her athleticism stood out, and she proved to be a true difference-maker on the court. — Kantessa Bryant-Miller @prepdignv     Anika's size at 5'8” gives her a strong presence as a setter. She impacted the game by scoring on second contact, and delivering clean, consistent sets that kept her hitters in rhythm.
