Must-Watch Matchups + Players to Watch in August

We put together a list of Nevada high school volleyball matches that you don't want to miss in August. We included the top returners from these talented teams and a little info on prior matchups between the two. September games and players to watch coming soon.    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Aug. 19 – Bishop Gorman @ Arbor View, 6 PM</h2>   Bishop Gorman is coming off a dominant 2024 campaign—undefeated in league play and sweeping every Vegas opponent in straight sets. The Gaels return most of their roster and able to fill in spots with some very talented underclassmen. This will be [player_tooltip player_id='203840' first='Ayanna' last='Watson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='325888' first='Trinity' last='Thompson']'s last season before heading off to University of Pittsburgh. Arbor View brings its own firepower, with several recent college commits and a front line that can swing hard. The Aggies will fight, but knocking off a stacked Gorman squad will be a tall task. Spanish Springs returns key veteran contributors, while Manogue reloads with a young, high-upside roster fresh off standout club seasons. Expect a high-energy, momentum-swinging battle with the potential for a season-defining result for either side. But Shadow Ridge isn't coming quietly—they're armed with serious offensive weapons and will bring plenty of energy to defend their home court. This one has “five-set thriller” written all over it. Faith will be eager to flip the script this season, bringing a deep, talented lineup capable of pushing the pace. Coronado enters as the favorite, but Faith has all the pieces to pull off an early-season upset in what could be the month's most electric matchup.
