Nebraska 2027 Setters Ready to Run the Show this Fall

At the same time, we've also been previewing the fast-approaching high school season. That has led to some "medley" features throughout the month, and we're ready to churn out another one.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Setters have recently been stealing the spotlight among Nebraska's top 2027s. The position has already given us some <a href="https://prepdig.com/2025/08/breaking-down-early-commits-in-nebraska-2027-rankings/">high-profile commits</a> and can't-miss <a href="https://prepdig.com/2025/08/nebraska-2027-stock-risers-poised-for-breakout-junior-season/">stock risers</a> in our rankings. However, Bowman is also an elite distributor who put up nearly ten assists per set for Grand Island Northwest last fall. This standout setter has played on club volleyball's biggest stages with Nebraska Elite and can adapt to any system. She showcased her prowess in a 5-1 offense as Nebraska Elite 16 Apex made a deep run at AAU Nationals this summer. Her poise and precision lifted the Cougars to the Class D2 semifinals and placed the program on an upward trajectory heading into 2025. Wood has a knack for finding the hot hand and has also elevated her game as an attacking threat in the front row. She followed up her 8.7 assist-per-set freshman campaign by putting up nearly ten assists per set in her second season with Laurel-Concord-Coleridge. The Bears have seen this tremendous production translate to the win column, as the team amassed an impressive 28-5 record last fall. Overton High School entered 2024 with plenty of question marks after losing several transformative athletes from 2023's championship squad. Elfgren helped this transition process and maintained Overton's high standards as a title threat. Her nine assists per set ranked among the best marks for Nebraska sophomores, and expectations remain the same for Year 3. Hinman took command of the Fairbury offense last fall and produced nine assists per set for the 21-12 Jeffs. Then, this savvy setter contributed to [program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''] 16 Black's spectacular 2025 club season, culminating in a trip to Dallas for USAV Nationals. She immediately guided the Wayne High School offense as a freshman and upped her averages to eight assists per set the next year. Redden has also excelled on the Prep Dig Circuit, connecting with any hitter she's teamed with during our showcases.
