In our class of 2029 there are a number of frosh who have made the varsity roster for their high school teams. One of them appears to have made her high school team after a move to Texas. All the players in our top 20 ranked 11-20 appear on their varsity rosters. Eight of them are detailed below plus two more who played in the Virginia Volleyball Showcase who did not get ranked when the first rankings were published. In addition, all of our top ten have made the varsity, except for two players in which team rosters are not yet available.

She ranks as the top libero in the class of 2029. For Colgan she played the libero position in the Virginia Volleyball showcase won by Colgan. You probably will not find a more enthusiastic and intense player on the court. She celebrates every good play finished off by her teammates.

Of course, Rose usually starts those finishes off with a good pass or a fantastic dig. She hustles after every ball, not afraid to hit the floor to make a dig. As a frosh she still has a lot to learn about the libero position such as positioning on court for defense. Also, the consistency of her passing sometimes needs a little work as well. However, if she was a painting that was a work in progress you would think it was a Rembrandt waiting to be finished.

As the season progresses she should only get better.

Madison was the top hitter for the Virginia Juniors 14 team. She also lights up the court with her enthusiasm, but unlike [player_tooltip player_id='747458' first='Angelie' last='Rose Carrasco'] she usually finishes up a rally. A six rotation player with an awareness of the court.

She made the Oakton varsity roster and is tied for the team lead in kills. Her six rotation play stands out as she also leads the team in digs and serve receive. As a frosh she still needs some work to enhance her game. While she does lead the team in kills she also leads the team in hitting errors. This is not unusual for a frosh.

The struggles to play against older players are a reality in high school ball. As the season progresses her game will improve. There exists too much talent in her game not to succeed.

[player_tooltip player_id='750056' first='Kiera' last='Jordan'] OH (Annandale) - Historically, Annandale has not been a powerhouse in volleyball. Last year the Atoms finished 8-14. The two years prior to that they combined for a 2-32 record. With Kiera hitting outside they should improve on their performance. Perhaps even challenging the .500 mark. For club she played for Metro 14 reaching just over 10 feet with her approach jump. At 5'11" she brings good height to the pin position. The Atoms do bring in a frosh setter Rachel Bauer who mainly hit outside for [program_tooltip program_id='511606' first='Vienna' last='Elite'] this past club season. While it is still early in the season the combo appears successful as the Atoms have started the season 1-1.

[player_tooltip player_id='779106' first='Isabella' last='Jeantel'] middle (Tuscarora) - She lists at 6'0". For club she dominated at the 14 level for Libero. In the couple matches I watched they were not playing at the highest level, so the competition was not as great. Still, she showed a good swing when hitting the ball, clearly dominating the competition. For Tuscarora she already appears to be making an impact with ten kills in a scrimmage against Osbourne Park. The official start of their season begins in two weeks.

[player_tooltip player_id='753073' first='Aniston' last='Williams'] middle (Holy Cross) - She should fit in well with her Maryland Juniors teammate [player_tooltip player_id='622282' first='Emerson' last='Wolfe'] on the team. She lists at 6'0, puts up a good block and is already accomplished at hitting the quick tempo sets. For the Tartans she could be used a little on the right side as well, however, with the graduation of Rowan Johnson Holy Cross has an immediate need at middle. Expect her to struggle early in the season but when the playoffs start she should start bringing her "A" game.

Avery is already making an impact for her team as a frosh. In the opener against Clark County she put away six kills and notched one block resulting in a sweep. The team has started the season 2-0 without losing a set.

Her athleticism makes her play at the middle work, despite her 5'10" height which might be considered short by some standards. It would not surprise me to see her eventually move to outside as her game develops. For [program_tooltip program_id='494409' first='Blue' last='Ridge'] she hit the quick tempo sets well but also put away some higher sets in the middle.

The big game for the Warriors will be on 9/4 when they face the three time state champion James Wood. Many of her [program_tooltip program_id='494409' first='Blue' last='Ridge'] club mates play on that team.

She was one of the primary hitters for Virginia Juniors. The expectation was that she would be going to Battlefield. No [player_tooltip player_id='748006' first='Alaenah' last='Frank'] appears on the varsity, junior varsity or frosh roster for the Bobcats. She is too good a player not to make the team.

Unless, as It appears she has moved to Texas where she plays for Waller high school. I will move her file to Texas but I wanted to wait until the official rankings came out for Virginia. She appears to have made the varsity team for Waller sitting third on the team in kills. Club tryouts for Texas happen early so she also has made the [program_tooltip program_id='462263' first='TAV' last='Houston'] team.

Her six rotation play could still use some work, but she is a strong hitter. She earned a top performer award at the Prep Dig showcase.

[player_tooltip player_id='787919' first='Charlotte' last='Booth'] middle/outside (North Hagerstown) - [player_tooltip player_id='303701' first='Caydence' last='Doolan'] could use some help in order for the Hubs to defend their state championship. Charlotte is one of four frosh to make the roster. At 6'0" she shows the athleticism to hit the pins. For [program_tooltip program_id='476729' first='Paramount' last=''] she played right side. I have not seen her play any back row but she should make an immediate impact with the Hub offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='882869' first='Emmerson' last='Croft'] setter (St. Catherines) - Her older sister Anne Fielding Croft set four years for St. Catherines and graduated last year. She finished with over 2,000 assists, committing to Christopher Newport to continue her volleyball carrer. Her younger sister has made the varsity as a frosh and begins her career with the Saints. She set for St. Catherine at the Virginia Volleyball showcase. While she is not yet ranked that should change during the next ranking. Like her sister she is smooth to watch, runs an offense well knowing who to set when it comes crunch time.

She set for Liberty Christian Academy at the Virginia Volleyball showcase. She is the younger sister of [player_tooltip player_id='229773' first='Evie' last='Ballengee']. While she does not have the height of her older sister she has the hands and the quickness to set. She also serves and hits lefthanded. For Liberty she plays back row only coming in for the second left side.

Since she spent a lot of time watching her sister play she already brings a good volleyball IQ to the game. She set well for the Bulldogs at the showcase. She needs to push the ball outside more, but she hit her sister once on a quick tempo set that gave the Bulldogs a point. That certainly was a moment to celebrate
