Scouting Reports: Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks 2025

The Golden Hawks jumped out to a 13-4 start to the campaign with notable wins against Pella, Mount Vernon, Prairie and Wilton. She's also one of the better uncommitted seniors in Iowa. As she had through her first three seasons as a prep, Evans began 2025 strengthening her squad through six rotations. During the campaign's first 17 matches, she 181 assists, 163 kills, 163 digs and 10.0 blocks. Evans is an explosive athlete that can leap out of the gym and cover a lot of court. Her swing is quick and powerful. Evans stands out as a setter, where she consistently runs a smooth operation. A factor at the net with 89 kills (.328) through the Golden Hawks' first 17 matches of 2025, Evans does her best work in the back row. She paced Mid-Prairie in digs with 214. She's quick laterally, gets a sound read on the attack, and her reflexes aid her in serve-receive and squelching kill attempts from the opposition. Evans is focused and plays hard no matter the score. That's continued with emphasis through the first 17 matches of her senior campaign. Pacha ranked second on the Golden Hawks with 98 kills (.303). She'd chipped in 40 digs and 15.0 blocks, as well, highlighting her well-rounded set of skills. Pacha is a smart player that gets the most out of her talent. Her competitiveness also is an asset. She paced Mid-Prairie in assists during the team's first 17 matches of 2025, while contributing 87 digs. Helmuth smoothly operates in traffic, getting to her spots and delivering precise sets on a consistent basis. She has a knack for knowing where each attacker prefers the ball and puts it on the money to maximize their chances. Through Mid-Prairie's first 17 matches of 2025, she ranked among the team leaders with 75 kills (.232). What I notice from club to school ball was Harland's improved consistency. It's a combination of executing when she gets a ball to put down and realizing there are some sets that need to just be kept in play. Operating as the team's libero during the Live Like Like Tournament at Iowa City West in early September, Foster displayed a good feel for the game. She tracks the ball well in serve-receive and flashes quick reflexes in defending against the attack.
