15 New Madison Area Names To Know For The Postseason

We're going to zoom in on the Madison area where the “Road to the Resch” begins this week.  There are plenty of big college commits from this area, but who are the ones of the rise?  Maybe a role player?  Who are the new names you need to know for the postseason from the Madison area?     The springy outside for the Warriors is going to be one to watch this postseason for a high powered Waunakee squad. [player_tooltip player_id='345274' first='Lauren' last='Sprague'] and [player_tooltip player_id='388460' first='Kaitlin' last='Van Wie'] lead the way with kills, but Grogran is someone who teams cannot sleep on as she has 138 kills on the season.     Edgewood might be peaking at the right time as they approach a loaded sectional in D2. An attacker to know for the Crusaders is [player_tooltip player_id='726010' first='Emily' last='Conwell'], a sophomore who has collected over 200 kills this season.     Middleton is another team from the Madison area that seems to be peaking at the right time. They are the five seed in their section, but are coming off a title at the Luxemburg-Casco tournament where they collected big wins over Luxemburg-Casco and Waukesha West. [player_tooltip player_id='587083' first='Ruby' last='Clooten'] is an athletic and dynamic middle blocker who is just a sophomore. She is averaging over two kills per set, hitting .282, and has nearly 70 blocks.     DeForest has had a big season and a roster full of talented underclassmen attackers. [player_tooltip player_id='553214' first='Haylin' last='Arnold'] lead the team with 3.6 kills per set. She can score from both pins and is someone to watch out of the back row where she can score points and averages over two digs per set. The Norskies have the three seed heading into the post season.     Edgerton is another team who has some young attackers led by [player_tooltip player_id='837206' first='Reese' last='Zellmer']. With over 300 kills and digs, Zellmer is one who can take over for the Crimson Tide. They are 30-8 on the season and were undefeated in conference play.     Mount Horeb is a senior led squad and one of their top players who can put up plenty of points is [player_tooltip player_id='845435' first='Ella' last='Kahl']. Kahl is averaging over three kills per set and leads the team in hitting percentage as well.     Lake Mills has put together quite a season earning a three seed on their side of the section and have a record of 21-9. Keep tabs on junior middle blocker [player_tooltip player_id='828180' first='Brooke' last='Palmer'] who is one of their top kill scorers and leads the team in hitting percentage and total blocks.     The Marshall Cardinals are 23-10 on the season and have a balanced attack that has give problems to the other side of the net. They have a two seed on their side of the sectional behind Mineral Point. A point scorer to know would be [player_tooltip player_id='830899' first='Carly' last='Checky'] who is averaging 3.5 kills per set.     Emma Nolke is the commander of a high powered offense from Abundant Christian Life. The setter has nearly 800 assists for the Challengers. This has been quite the season where they have earned a top seed on their side of the sectional with a 31-6 record.     The Waterloo Pirates are back to making some waves. With a 21-9 record, they have a two seed on their side of the section large in part to the performance of freshman [player_tooltip player_id='522967' first='Lilli' last='Lauersdorf']. She is averaging nearly four kills per set. Her physicality and athleticism is just different where she just puts a hurt on the ball.       There is a lot of length to [player_tooltip player_id='510462' first='Olivia' last='Quinton']. She leads the Wolves in total blocks and poses a threat to score from the middle and the right side. Sun Prairie West has the six seed heading into tournament play where they play Baraboo in the opening round.       Verona has grabbed the top seed in their section and that largely due to the performance of [player_tooltip player_id='796520' first='Macy' last='Stremlow']. She has averages 3.5 kills per set for the Wildcats and is a major defensive presence as well. Her athleticism and dynamic ability to impact the game all over the court will be tough to contain.     This is an exciting athlete we will have to keep tabs on - Hadley Murphy of Milton. The freshman middle blocker has racked up nearly 60 total blocks on the season leading her team. Their is a high ceiling to her game where her best volleyball is ahead of her.       Sauk Prairie has two big time attackers in [player_tooltip player_id='388467' first='Mallory' last='Hartwig'] and [player_tooltip player_id='504459' first='Alaina' last='Kraemer'] who will are committed to South Dakota and Illinois State. However, teams cannot sleep on [player_tooltip player_id='828296' first='Lila' last='Shadewald'] who is highly efficient and a major presence with her block at the net. This section three in D2 is so deep and the Eagles will need the likes of Shadewald to continue to deliver.     There is a major presence from the sophomore class of McFarland and one of their key leaders is Alex Faust who is one of their setters. She leads the team in assists and digs. McFarland has a five seed in their rugged half of the section, but could be a team to have an upset or two with their challenging schedule from this past season.
