The beat goes on.

Over the past few days, we've been assessing a few of our watch list athletes who are making their case to join the rankings this fall. We've visited with Nebraska's Class of 2027 while also giving the 2028s their time in the spotlight. And with so many sophomores lighting up the scoreboard across the Cornhusker State, we might as well hang out with the 2028s a little longer.

So, bring on Part 2.

Adams Central High School is building a rich history of excellence at the middle blocker position. Barber is perpetuating the trend by hitting north of 0.300 in an expanded role in the Patriots' offense. She has already soared past her freshman production from last year and works hard to be an available attacking option in transition. Barber's work in the South Central NE gym--alongside many of her Adams Central teammates--has primed her for a big breakthrough this fall.

We're leaning heavily into the small-town stars for this one. Bartley Southwest generated plenty of headlines last year en route to an undefeated regular season, and Billeter ran that show as a first-year prep athlete. She's back in action this fall with around ten assists per set for one of Nebraska's most dynamic offenses. Billeter is not shy about forcing her middles and making a risky set against the grain. The result has been an 18-3 mark and the Roughriders' return to Class D1 frontrunner status.

Dolliver's multi-sport reign at Malcolm High School has been something to behold. She's bringing her best to the volleyball court this fall with 4.9 kills per set to lead the Clippers alongside her older sister, Halle. We shouldn't be surprised by this stat-stuffing dominance, as Dolliver is building off a 350-plus kill season as a freshman last fall. Her progress as a backcourt asset has boosted her stock even more, so we'll see Dolliver rocket into the rankings upon our next update.

Donohoe has elevated every facet of her game since her extraordinary debut season with Mullen High School last fall. She has eclipsed three kills per set while also upping her averages in digs, blocks, and aces. Her six-rotation influence has propelled the Broncos into a large group of postseason hopefuls in Class D2. This class is notoriously unpredictable, and high-volume scorers like Donohoe can turn the tide when postseason pressure ramps up.

Fremont High School needed a new go-to attacker this fall, and Fiscus has been eager to take up the mantle. The high-flying sophomore earned some solid reps with the Tigers last year but has enjoyed a meteoric rise in Year 2. Fiscus has pounded down nearly four kills per set while exhibiting a full array of shots on the outside. Her experience as a middle blocker might be paying off in her physical, fearless approach as a pin hitter. Even with a stacked field of Class A competitors, Fremont remains a force.

Here's another chance to highlight Galyen's wealth of contributions in the Norfolk lineup. She does so much more than distribute the ball to Norfolk's impressive attacking corps. Galyen is also a stout blocker, a relentless defender, and gives the Panthers a vocal leader at the signal-caller spot. This set of intangibles is rare from an underclassman, but Galyen's poise has shone no matter where she's competing.

Lincoln Standing Bear's strong showing at the LPS Classic gave us plenty of underclassmen to talk about. Pedersen thrived on the defensive end and has expanded on her standout club season with [program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last='']. She has shown tremendous range in any backcourt zone and will not hesitate to take up space in the serve-receive pattern. Even her secondary setting has taken the spotlight, allowing the Grizzlies to operate its out-of-system offense. We have a lot of 2028 liberos to assess for our rankings update.
