South Central NE 16 Black’s path to the podium could run through the middle. Last year’s group made a massive charge to the GJNC podium, allowing rural stars like Barber to enter the spotlight. This Adams Central sophomore has continued her ascent in 2026 to become a go-to in-system terminator for 16 Black. She can shoulder the ‘M1’ role in the starting rotation and has wielded a wicked serve during South Central NE’s early-season tournament stops. The ultimate test will be Kansas City’s Show Me Qualifier, where all South Central breakthroughs seem to happen.

Adams Central High School is building a rich history of excellence at the middle blocker position. Barber is perpetuating the trend by hitting north of 0.300 in an expanded role in the Patriots’ offense. She has already soared past her freshman production from last year and works hard to be an available attacking option in transition. Barber’s work in the South Central NE gym–alongside many of her Adams Central teammates–has primed her for a big breakthrough this fall.

We were fortunate enough to have a heap of South Central NE gems at last year’s summer showcases. Barber joined us to display her quick arm at the middle blocker spot–a common trend at Adams Central High School. The 2025 club season has given us exponentially more highlight moments as Barber and South Central NE 15 Black marched to the Dallas podium. We’re expecting a productive sophomore season out of this showcase alum and a few more high-profile club performances, too.
