With regionals in the rearview and the semi-state pairings set for this coming Saturday, we're taking the time to review the top players from 3A that showed out. Here are nine athletes, some committed and some available, that played well beyond their means to help their teams to victory, and some that kept their teams afloat for as long as possible in a loss.

Elle is a high-flying and heavy-hitting pin attacker that can terminate from anywhere, and did just that in their sweep of Bishop Noll on Saturday. Her 16 kill, 12 dig and 2 ace performance was only overshadowed by the fact that she hit nearly .500 in doing so. As the primary attacker for Marian, she's got a lot on her shoulders, but is more than capable of carrying the load of responsibility, and rarely plays like a “typical sophomore”. Playing with maturity and a high volleyball IQ, Elle has “next level” written all over her.

Macie's leadership has been in place for YEARS for the Huskies. Now, it's finally paid off, as she led her squad to the school's first-ever regional title. In their sweep of Norwell, Macie had a full stat sheet—-22 kills, 7 digs, 2 aces and 2 blocks—-along with a bunch of other ball touches and unlisted attributes that make her the perfect teammate. This West Virginia commit will add a ton of value in the Big XII next fall.

Speaking of adding value, Caroline had to add a whole lot more when fellow teammate from a year ago, [player_tooltip player_id='832901' first='Izzy' last='Masten'], chose to graduate early to play at top five Pitt. Fast-forward to this week, and the Bruins are once again winning the regional. Caroline's 24 kill, 14 dig, 5 ace and 5 block show-out against 3A top-ten Northview was much-needed in order to win, and SMU must be elated to see a future Mustang take over a match like Miss Ward just did.

In mid-September against Center Grove, Grace played a ton but didn't factor much into the loss with only 2 kills and 3 blocks. Fast-forward to the regional title match against #1 Cathedral, and Grace was the x-factor in the four-set win. Her 16 kills, 5 aces, 3 blocks and 3 digs, while hitting north of .500 as a pin attacker, was THE reason for the Royals' victory. The adjustment made by the coaching staff in the sectional final against New Palestine has made all the difference, and should give colleges a little more tape to watch and see what she brings to the table.

Ball State commit Hayden was one of the lone bright spots for the Fighting Irish in their regional loss to Roncalli. Her consistent and relentless play has been there all season, win or lose, and this past Saturday was no different. She finished with a double-double (15k, 11d), while also adding a pair of aces and hitting over .300, showing physical leadership that I've not seen from her at this level.

Steadily and consistently doing her thing and leading by example, Ella is a solid pin attacker that can terminate from anywhere, and did just that in their four-set win over Hanover Central at regionals. With yet another double-double of 15 kills and 12 digs, coupled with a couple of aces, Ella's the reason these young ladies made it this far, and look to go even farther with a semi-state match against Mishawaka Marian on Saturday.

I don't talk much about defensive specialists or liberi much in these “top players” articles, since there are so many that do well. I'd be remiss, though, if I didn't mention the top defender from all classes at the regional. The Dayton commit finished with 35 digs in Jasper's upset of #4 Greensburg in five sets last Saturday. She also received 25 serves error-free, making her indispensable to Jasper, as ball-control will be job #1 against #5 Tri-West on Saturday.

Doing a little of everything for the Pirates is none other than pin attacker Victoria. Her 24 kill, 16 dig performance highlighted the tough upset loss in five last Saturday, and proved that the future is bright for the ladies in blue.

I'm finding it harder and harder to believe that this young lady is still available for colleges for the fall of ‘26, yet here we are. The double-double machine that is Sophie, she finished with a whopping 24 kills in only three sets in the efficient sweep of Heritage Hills on Saturday. She also added 13 digs, proving her all-around game is doing just fine, even on the brightest of stages. I guess I don't have to remind anyone that she's doing this while playing in 3A, after making it all the way to Worthen last fall in 2A. Next up: defending 3A champ Roncalli, where she and her fellow Braves will really be tested.
