Which team is really the best in the DMV? How to find out…

So while I was watching the IAAM Championship on Sunday, I was talking with a buddy, whose daughter plays in the WCAC, while mine plays in Anne Arundel County, and we got to thinking. We were talking about AACS and how great and deep they are, and I mentioned how my DREAM matchup this season would have been to see them and Howard High from Howard County go head to head. That would be a great game. Then we talked about some of the great teams in our area, and how they are spread out over 7-8 different conferences, two states and one district. What if however, after the championships are decided, before club season kicks off, if we had one DMV Invitational to crown the BEST team in the region, regardless of private, public or state?

, and so many more ALL in one place and against each other? As a fan of volleyball in the DMV you get a true gauntlet to find out who the better team is? Georgetown Day vs James Woods, Howard vs AACS, Broadneck vs Holy Cross. Ignore 1A vs 4A. Just good teams going against each other for a trophy, and the bragging rights of being the best team in a major metro area.
It should be done year by year with the best teams that year based on record. You'd need a selection board, as year to year there are changes, maybe one conference is so deep it warrants 3 picks, where another one only has 1, but other years it's 2 and 2. Start conservative with a 16 team bracket, maybe move to a 32 team later if great teams are still being left out? Rotate hosting areas/locations? Maybe we could finally put to bed who has the best conference in the area? It's nice we have so many state/region champions. Three conferences in IAMM. Four in Maryland public schools, more than that in Virginia. Lets let them all go at it, turn the fierce 1A team against a team from the WCAC and see what happens. The possibilities are many.
