About Taylor
Expert Analysis

Taylor is the top prospect in the class of 2027. She played middle last year for the gold middle winning United States junior national team. Clearly the top middle in the area.
For Wakefield she mostly hit outside. Playing for Paramount she returns to the middle. Her blocking is very formidable. When she goes up and the hitter tries to go cross court the spike is usually rejected. An extremely intense player who shows tremendous energy while on the court. Her approach jump is just shy of 10’3″.
Paramount recently qualified for Junior Nationals in the National Division. Their ultimate goal is to play in Open. Last year they played in Open. It was a disappointing result but there were a number of distractions. Taylor flew straight from Canada to Dallas where she competed with the United States Junior National team in an international event. This year the focus can move to doing well in the Junior Nationals.
Taylor has committed to Penn State.

There is an upside to the game of Taylor Harrington that is so exciting. The 6’3 middle blocker had a big summer with USAV playing for the U19 squad, teaming up with future teammates Olivia Henry and Nejari Crooks. What Harrington brings to the table is length and speed that makes for a dangerous combo in the middle. Penn State picked up one of the top middles in the Class of 2026 in Kendall Northern and with Harrington coming to town as well it is going to be a dangerous 1-2 punch.

She ranks number one in our class of 2027. All the number one ranked players in the various age groups from the DMV have been invited. Taylor has already competed with the National team in an international event in Canada. She may be the first non-Metro player invited to the NTDP. Showing her dedication, after the Canadian event was completed and the USA won gold, she hopped on a plane to fly to Dallas to compete with Paramount in the Open Division at junior nationals.
Paramount struggled during the tournament. Relying on an exhausted Taylor may have been their downfall but who can blame them. Overall, she may be the top player in the Region. With no international events on the agenda for this year Paramount should compete better with a more rested Taylor.
Taylor has committed to Penn State. Three other Chesapeake Region players will compete for Penn State next year. Emmerson Sellman, Alexis Ewing and the recently transferred Ryla Jones.
