How These Performers Lit Up The Room At The IL Exposure Tour

When I say this event was crawling with talent it was obvious. All the coaches raved about how the 2029, 2028, 2027 and 2026 girls were very talented. They were put under one roof and were all there to compete and show what they were made of. No matter what court, or position you were at you could see the skill sets these ladies possessed. The Illinois Prep Dig Exposure tour had tons of names to write about and you will hear, read and learn about them, but these Top performers lit up the room. So lets talk about them first!    I saw Naimah running the offense and setting very well at the Exposure tour. She had a very soft touch with her sets and sprayed the ball around nicely to hitters. She read the ball very well off passes, never seemed like she had to hurry to get in position to set. No matter the set she could make it ... back set, jump set, quick she had the tools. Worked hard blocking as well. I didn't get a chance to see her hit ... appears may play some RS ... but I could see that. Athletic build and great coordination I'm sure she can put a good swing on the ball.     Everything she does seems effortless, and at the end of the day that's a huge compliment. I've written about Shirk before and she can do anything at any position. She was doing a lot of sitting but also saw her hit and pass as well. Her sets are always on the money, her hits are powerful, she's a lefty as well ... and when she passes you can't even tell it hits her arms, it's so soft. She always has a smile on her face, but competes to the max as well. Only a 2029, but plays varsity, and will have a great club season and career ahead of her.     Reese is a DS/L a "little" as some would say but she plays big. Believe she played Varsity as a freshman this year and I can see why. She stays ready, and reacts very well. Always seems to take the right angle to the ball. Competed very well at the Exposure tour, good passer, good mechanics, and is really scrappy on defense. She keeps plays and points alive. Seems to have a really good nose on where the ball is going and delivers passes right to the setter.     Leila was a force at the net during the Exposure tour. So quick and so explosive at that MB/MH position. Her speed and explosiveness was what stood out along with her powerful hitting. She is a 5'10" middle and the size of some of the front lines over 6'3 and 6'4" was no problem for her. She was dominating at some points. She was also named the Avoli Committed Athlete of the event as well. Her hustle, drive, attitude made it an easy selection. Read more and see more about her at the Avoli Committed article.     I saw Katy do a little bit of everything at the Prep Dig Exposure Event. She has hops for days, a great vertical with a great swing from that OH position. She passes well too from that spot and explodes into her swings. She stuck out right away for me when I saw her in hitting lines. She continued delivering big swings in gameplay as well. She is an athlete for sure with a ton of skill. Class of 2028 player to watch.     Riordan was the type of SURE and CONFIDENT player you want in your backrow. I saw her make pass after pass right to the setter. Has a nice soft platform and delivers. She reads hits really well too as I watched her during gameplay and she was always in the right spot. Does a nice job with high balls as well and uses her hands. She was able to set hitters out of system as well. Back row player you want.     Brooklyn does it all. She is a volleyball player in every sense of the word. She can pass, takes great swings on the ball and can hit all the shots at that OH position. She is athletic with a nice vertical and just makes good volleyball plays. She's got grit in her game as well and is there to compete. She just stands out when on the court. Whether she is smacking the ball for a kill, or covering teammates with a dig she's out there making big plays.     Sophia was delivering some nice kills and hits. She can place shots and does it with accuracy. A smart player with good size and wingspan. I saw her hit on that RS spot, lefty swing, and a problem to deal with at the net. Her volleyball IQ seems to be very high, I even watched her tool the block a few times, but on purpose, impressive.     Abby has the tools to make a great volleyball player, and she showed those tools at the Prep Dig Exposure event. She has a nice vertical at that MB/RS position. I saw her take swings from both positions and she can deliver some nice kills. Saw her get some nice touches on defense as well against some bigger taller front lines. I saw Abby play some JV volleyball this year as well, and I can see her making a big jump this year in club and next year for school ball. Abby is one to watch at that net!     Ella is a handful at that net. She mixes good IQ with her hits, and good size at the net to give opponents problems. I saw her get some blocks and make some smart hits at that MB position. She goes to Marist for school and 1st Alliance and you can see she's coached very well. Good form blocking and foot movement and is a gamer when she steps on the court.    There were about 120 players at this Exposure Tour event and it was very very competitive. These players were selected by coaches and writers at the event and deservedly so. They stuck out as Top Performers and competed every single play. That said, there was so much talent I can't wait to tell you more about the players we witnessed at this event.
