I was afforded to the opportunity to work the Ohio Exposure Tour at [program_tooltip program_id='431555' first='Mintonette' last=''] Volleyball Club this past Saturday, and there was no shortage of talent in any position. Here are my favorite pin attackers (outsides and right sides) that caught my eye and will have a solid recruiting journey this coming club season.

Ameera immediately stood out to me as one of the bigger and stronger outsides on Saturday. Immediately showing off her arm strength, Miss Saunders spent a good portion of the day hammering away at weak blocks and finding holes in the defense to hit a heavy ball through. She's more of a three-rotation pin at the next level, but can step in to receive serve on a need basis for anyone who needs a big and physical attacker.

Named the Avoli Committed Athlete at the Ohio Exposure Tour, Emelia was an immediate impact from the baseline. Her tough, topspin jump serve gave fits to outsides and DS's alike, and then she started attacking. With a hard and heavy swing in-system and smart, error-free shots out-of-system Miss Goetz was the clear winner of the award and was the top attacker for a number of coaches as well as this author on Saturday. I look forward to her development as a six-rotation, primary attacker this club season.

With a high and consistent attack point, Charlet used every bit of her 5'10” frame to put balls away in every tempo of set and at every angle all day on Saturday. I liked her constant footwork and purposeful movement—-nothing was wasted with Miss Perin throughout the skill drills, and even had some smart shots mixed in for good measure. I didn't get a chance to catch a lot of her serve receive, but her defense is smart and calculated, and is certainly not a liability when on the floor.

Hitting a heavier-than-expected ball from both pins, Ella spent a lot of her time on the right side on Saturday, and was strong in her upper body. Usually, a kid this size might not fit on the right side because of her blocking. Not true with Miss Ferguson, as she more than makes up for it with a solid, hands-first block that rarely was out of position. On the attack, she's more than capable of making adjustments to inconsistent setting—-which she had to do multiple times—-and still find ways to terminate the play. Eliminate her size from the equation and watch Ella play this spring; her athleticism and high volleyball IQ are more than enough to find her way to a college roster in a couple of years.

Insert a wide-eyed emoji right HERE. Gianna's ability to go up and OVER blocks was impressive, and looked to be the highest jump among all attackers at Saturday's Exposure Tour. This lefty banger, who plays club in Indiana, makes gravity look optional and hits all angles high and deep regularly. Hard to defend and nearly impossible to tool, Miss Upshaw is someone we'll be keeping an eye on in the future, as her athletic skill, high volleyball acuity and terminal ability on the right side as a lefty are all highly marketable to any college who needs such an athlete.

Coming to Columbus from Cleveland is yet another lefty hammer that has broad shoulders and can attack from anywhere. Although her attack touch wasn't the highest in the Exposure Tour, she still found seams in the block to score points more often than not. On defense, Mollie's broad blocking hands and shoulders are strong and were a problem for opposing attackers. She's solid on floor defense in the front row as an off-blocker defender, and looks to project as a three-rotation right side at the next level.

Gosh, there are MORE lefties? Well yes, there are, and Emily is a lengthy right side that can put balls away at any angle and from any tempo set she had thrown her way. Although a bit more narrow on the block than some of the others, she read hitters well defensively and was rarely out of position when blocking. Solid, consistent and reliable are words I'd use to describe Miss Marshall, and she was fun to watch play and let loose when things were in-system.

Wow. Listed as a right side for the Ohio Exposure Tour, Ashlyn is a hammer from both pins, and looked most comfortable on the outside in any situation and from every setter she was paired with Saturday. A high-and-hard attacker, Miss O'Brien makes a living off of using her size and strength combination to punish undisciplined defenders, and has the foot speed to adjust to out-of-system sets and still find ways to score points. On the block, her size alone makes her tough to go against, and is smart with her movements and rarely errs.

If there was an award for being smooth, Makenna wins. Every touch of every ball, in every situation, and on every contact, was balanced, smooth and fluid, and she acted MUCH more mature than her age might otherwise indicate. Her high and hard arm swing looked natural and repeatable, her defense and passing was calm, and her ability to take the second ball and make it hittable looked natural. Ahead in every part of her recruiting process at her young age, Makenna is well on her way to being noticed for next-level consideration.

Looking at my notes from all of the athletes from Saturday, I see the first word for Laura—-“WHOA”. That's about as accurate as I can be in a first impression of what Miss Raines can do on the volleyball court, and was one of the top performers on Saturday for good reason. Laura's all-around game is already elite, and she made changes to some of her play within the point being played—-not exactly a skill that's learned. She scored points in so many ways that it's hard to focus on her tendencies. With this collection of high-end, open-level skills, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if she's one of the first to receive offers starting in mid-June of 2027.

Pyper seems like the kid that fits any role needed. Need an outside that can put balls away? Pyper. How about a block with those long arms? Pyper, times two. Maybe a character kid that picks up her teammates when things aren't going well? Pyper again, and she didn't have to. Throughout Saturday, her name came up with multiple coaches as a player to keep an eye on for doing everything well, including the “good teammate” part that isn't found on a stat sheet. I can't imagine a college coach NOT needing those things on their squad, and she doesn't graduate for another couple of years. I look forward to her progress, and hope to see more of her at major qualifiers this spring.
