Feeling like I'm falling behind with in-person scouting as we hit the middle of February led to hunting for updated video of what's been missed. I wrote new reports for members of the 2027 and 2028 classes earlier this week. I dug back into the latter group again for today.

Otte has been one of the state's biggest risers during the last year. She broke out as a freshman at Williamsburg in 2024, shined in the middle of the net for United's top club team in her age group and then helped Iowa City West return to the state tournament last fall for the first time since 2016. This club season, she's lining up with the state's top 16U squad in Iowa Premier, which will be at Triple Crown this weekend. The high-level of competition will only make Otte that much more attractive to college coaches. Early-season highlights reveal that she's continued her ascent as a volleyball prospect. Power and precision stand out as key assets for Otte, a two-way presence in the middle. A heavy swing puts the ball down with authority. Timing, long arms and leaping ability lead to an intimidating block.

Weiland first caught my attention when watching her perform for PowerPlex's top team during last year's Northern Lights Qualifier and then again at the Iowa Regional. A sharp game at setter with an ability to effectively operate at the opposite pin illustrated versatility and impact. I didn't get to see her line up for Southeast Polk as a sophomore this fall, but she proved productive by leading the team in assists and ranking third in digs. Weiland has continued her climb as a college volleyball prospect with her early-season exploits for Plex, which will be back in action at the Triple Crown Invite in Kansas City this weekend. Her latest highlights from this winter show us a setter capable of putting the ball precisely where her attackers can finish points. She mixes up her sets to keep defenses honest and can end rallies with her own attack. Weiland defends well at the net and in the back row.

I wasn't able to find any new footage of Suhr from the current club season. That's OK. I've scouted her Rockets team in person twice this year. In-person viewing at the M1 Rochester Elite Scrimmages and the Iowa Invitational revealed a student-athlete that's steadily improving, one that took a noticeable step forward from when I watched her early last season at Williamsburg. Suhr is an impactful two-way player in the middle of the net. She explodes off of the court and elevates well above the net. From there, she generates power in her swing and good vision locates where the defense is vulnerable. Suhr shows excellent timing and reads when throwing up the block. She's technically sound in all aspects of the position.

To say I was impressed with watching Heuton in action during November's Iowa State tournament would be an understatement. Here exploits were paramount in Kuemper Catholic reaching the semifinals. Heuton remains on the fast track as a prospect, as evidence by updated video from this club campaign. She is a problem at the pin. A burst off of the court and big lift on her jump leads to a whip-like, fast swing that puts the block at an extreme disadvantage. Heuton has taken a step forward in generating power on the attack, and that should continue trending up as she adds strength during the next few years. Heuton is a good athlete that moves well laterally with quickness. She sees the court clearly and defends well at the net.

I've scouted Cahoy during the last few club season and have always left the gym impressed with her play. I hadn't had a chance to see her Six Pack squad yet in 2026, so I dug around for some updated video. Eureka, I found it. Cahoy has built on a sophomore season at New Hampton that saw her produced a team-best 333 kills (.268) and 267 digs. She brings an impressive well-rounded skill set to the court that allows for helping her squad wherever it most needs it. Cahoy is quick and sharp in the back row, delivering usable passes on the regular. She plays bigger than her height thanks to a big-time vertical leap, allowing her to effectively attack and defend at the net. Cahoy's crisp skill set reveals a commitment to improvement.

Small is big on potential. During the last few years, she's begun to realize it playing in programs that take on top competition. Her United team qualified for the USAV Open Division in its age group last year. Iowa City West returned to the state tournament this past season for the first time since 2016. It's not a coincidence that Small was a part of that success because her contributions were instrumental in it. I watched her often during the prep season and improvements from the club campaign were recognizable. We see that again when watching clips from early in this club year. Small is starting to trust her abilities more and more, which is leading to consistent success. When she's aggressive, she's dangerous. And that's what we're seeing in 2026. Check for Small at this weekend's Triple Crown Invite in Kansas City and at other top tournaments this winter and spring.
