What about the 2029s?

The Great Plains Region has been buzzing with early-season action. That circuit has included the GPR Gold Series, which visited Nebraska Elite last weekend after visiting Premier Nebraska for the opening outing. This Nebraska Elite Classic brought some top-tier talent to the spotlight before the most critical stretch of the club campaign. It's getting real.

Yesterday's feature discussed some 2028s worth following after Sunday's competition. But, of course, we had several 15s contenders in the gym, too. The Class of 2029 is still new to our coverage sphere, so the Nebraska Elite Classic offered a vital glimpse into the future.

Let's get to a few of the standouts.

Our intro alluded to the 15s age group, but we can't forget about the 2029s playing up a year with the 16s. So, our feature begins with Ramsey's tremendous backcourt work with [program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''] 16 Elite. The Norris freshman has enjoyed a roaring start to her prep career, helping the Titans clinch a Class B championship in her debut season. Her tenure with 16 Elite is bound to be equally successful, as Ramsey has already proven herself in any position along the end line. Big February venues await.

Frontcourt physicality remains the prevailing storyline for Nebraska Elite 15 Apex. Zelasney anchors this collective strength in the middle and changes the on-court dynamic as soon as she rotates into the front row. The Bennington freshman uses her pin-to-pin quickness to close 15 Apex's blocks and create a formidable wall for opposing attackers. The Elite Classic also revealed Zelasney's unique ability to score in front of the setter on various tempos. This change of pace will make 15 Apex even more difficult to defend on the Great Plains scene.

Peatrowsky is quickly becoming the "glue" player that ties everything together for Club Legacy 15 Alpha. She burst onto the prep scene last fall by putting up three kills per set in her first season with Omaha Westview. However, Peatrowsky finds a lot more ways to contribute outside of putting balls away at the net. This is a true six-rotation gem who commands large portions of 15 Alpha's serve-receive pattern. Peatrowsky regularly passed dimes last weekend and boosted the team's stout floor defense in the middle-back area. Upcoming tournaments will provide further testament to Peatrowsky's all-around influence.

Premier Nebraska 15 Gold keeps bringing new pin prospects to our attention. Graver is the latest addition to our recruiting radar after she soared to several eye-popping kills at Sunday morning's tournament. She didn't need a full approach to soar over the blocks and terminate in the crosscourt. This step-close explosiveness has made Graver a vital sideout source for 15 Gold, and that should continue into the qualifier grind.

The Nebraska Elite Classic brought us the next wave of small-town stars from South Central NE. Graham's defensive instincts and exceptional reflexes set the tone for South Central NE 15 Black while competing against Great Plains juggernauts last weekend. The Central City freshman put up triple-digit digs for the Bison last fall, so it's no surprise to see her commanding the libero jersey this spring. Graham is the perfect candidate to perpetuate South Central NE's tradition of backcourt excellence.

15s depth has been on full display for Premier Nebraska. Premier Nebraska 15 Black joined its 15 Gold counterparts in Sunday's top 15s division, allowing players like Gangwish to shine against tough foes. This high-flying pin hitter can adjust to whatever set she's given and has a mature feel for tooling the block. Gangwish also gets involved in defensive phases with her technically sound blocking form. 15 Black's challenging early-season slate will pay dividends when GJNC bids are at stake.

We've had a chance to take a peek at the evening wave from Sunday's event, and Brunssen's wicked right arm immediately stood out on the highlight tape. The Banzai VBC 15 Select outside hitter hits with tremendous range on either pin and is the leading out-of-system scoring outlet for her squad. Brunssen has a knack for hitting at the peak of her approach and is particularly good at carving angles between the block and the antenna. Brunssen's termination will remain in the spotlight after 15 Select's second-place finish in Sunday evening's Elite Classic.
