Across multiple divisions and events this weekend, these young athletes took the time to reflect on their performances with clarity and intention. Rather than focusing solely on results, each athlete evaluated how they contributed in key moments, how they responded to coaching feedback, and where their growth is headed next. From decision-making under pressure to consistency, communication, and accountability, these evaluations offer insight into how these young athletes are learning to compete, think the game, and take ownership of their development, both on and off the court.

Husband approached the weekend with a thoughtful, strategic mindset, focusing on learning from every point while maintaining a positive influence on her team. She was intentional with her attacking choices, mixing in tips, power tips, tooling, and cut shots to create scoring opportunities. One key moment came late in a tight match when she recognized an uncovered line shot and executed a power tip to score, helping swing momentum and eventually win the match. Looking forward, she is concentrating on improving her out-of-system attacking by slowing down her approach, refining footwork, and improving timing, based directly on coaching feedback. Off the court, Husband recently turned 15 and shared her excitement about growing in maturity and responsibility, along with her love for reading, history, and musical theater.

Davisson's weekend reflected a clear understanding of how consistency drives team success. She pointed to a long rally where she delivered five controlled passes in a single play, helping her team earn the point, as a moment that captured her impact. While she also contributed offensively with a back-row kill and scoring from the right side, she emphasized that her biggest contribution was staying reliable in serve receive and helping her team “win each play with a point.” Looking ahead, Davidson is focused on becoming more explosive offensively through jump training and intentional reps, while continuing to build consistency in her passing. Off the court, she was recently selected by her peers as Class of 2029 Vice President, a role she takes pride in as a representative and leader.

Young evaluated her weekend through the lens of effort and persistence, noting that she consistently pursued every ball and stayed committed to finishing plays. She was proud of her ability to transition off the net efficiently, move her feet to the ball, and remain an active listener on the court, all habits that helped her stay engaged throughout matches. As she continues to develop, Young is focused on improving her attacking mechanics by opening up and getting on top of the ball more consistently. Off the court, she recently completed her first semester of high school, a milestone she was proud to share.

Hivand's reflection highlighted growth in both connection and command. She was most proud of her work with the middles, citing improved placement, timing, and her ability to hold the block and move the offense more effectively. She also noted that becoming more demanding on the court helped guide her team's success. As she looks ahead, Hivand is intentionally focusing on developing her blocking and overall defensive skills to become more complete at her position. Off the court, she has already made an impression as a new incoming freshman, earning one of two varsity spots available and representing her school at regional and community volleyball events.

Mendoza's weekend reflected strong defensive growth and confidence at the net. She was proud of her blocking, which helped shut down opposing hitters, and noted that she contributed 18 kills while continuing to improve defensively. She also highlighted a clean weekend in serve receive with no passing errors, crediting the extra work she has been putting into her defensive game. Her next focus is applying coaching feedback by snapping her wrist more aggressively and starting her approach sooner to continue improving her efficiency. Off the court, Mendoza was recently selected for the 8th Grade All-State Game and qualified for nationals in 14U Olympic Weightlifting, accomplishments that reflect her dedication and discipline beyond volleyball.
