2028 Top Liberos

As we progress through our position by position breakdown of the class of 2028, we have now got to our liberos! The liberos of this class have really come along this season and are fully progressing into impact players for their club and school teams. These girls should start appearing on some college radars in the coming months especially after the summer season.   If you need to check out the updated rankings they are here: <a href="https://prepdig.com/arizona/rankings/2028-rankings/">2028 AZ Rankings</a>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Top of the food chain</h2>    The top libero in the class is Anabelle and if you watch her play you will see a libero whose play pops on film, and in person. She is a fast and agile libero who moves super fast and effortlessly. On top of that her court IQ is one of the biggest reasons she stands out as the top libero. She processes the game quickly, anticipates attacks before they happen, and positions herself extremely well defensively. Whether it is reading tips, tracking hitters, or recognizing offensive tendencies, she consistently seems one step ahead during rallies.   Her technique is also flawless as she contacts the ball with perfect and consistent form each and every play. Doesn't matter if it is a hard driven ball, serve receive, or a coverage ball. She seems to always get good platform on the ball and correct angles to keep her team in system throughout the match. Most teams just aviod her but when she does get touches she maximizes the most out of them.   The top libero in the 2028 class, and one of the best to do it this season at the libero position. We look forward to seeing Anabelle at nationals this season preform at the highest level!     Another top libero, and in all reality it is 1A and 1B with Izzie and Anabelle, as they are both game changing liberos. Izzie is also elite with her footwork and moves effortlessly from serve receive, to coverage, and transitions to defense. She excels in serve receive with a calm, composed platform and the ability to adjust to difficult serves while still keeping her team in system. Her serving is another major strength, as she consistently delivers aggressive, well-placed balls that create pressure and force opposing offenses into uncomfortable situations. She understands how to target seams and weak rotations and force the other team out of system.   On the flip side she also do a lot for her team on the defensive end. She seems to read the court and game well and gets a great jump on the ball to get elite level touches. Even playing against high level competition at the open level for NQ's she still is able to read those hitters/teams and get in the best position to pass the ball for her team.   Her game is smooth and flawless, on top of the fact she has a extremely high court IQ. With Izzie, you get a all around player who can help her team in so many ways as a libero. We saw so many great things out of Izzie this year and can't wait to see her represent AZ at the national level.    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Risers/Closing in on the top 15</h2>    Carsen is a riser who is making waves this season with her game play in both region and at NQs. She is exceptionally strong in serve receive, consistently delivering accurate passes while handling tough float servers with confidence and control. She seems to take up a ton of ground in serve receive, playing in the seams, and taking a ton of balls that aren't intended for her. She will keep her team in system with her high level passes throughout the match.   She also brings tremendous value in coverage, never giving up on plays and constantly putting herself in position to keep the ball alive around the block and outside the court. Combined with her communication, leadership, and relentless energy, she gives her team stability in the backcourt and impacts winning in ways that do not always show up on the stat sheet.   Carsen is elite with her passing, defense, and movement, but also brings a lot more to a team besides that. She has been a riser in the overall rankings this year, and someone who is going to make waves at nationals and beyond this season.     Zoe is a libero who is firmly on our radar with her game play this season. She always seems to be involved in every play and when she touches a ball, she seems to always get it on target and keep it alive. She covers a tremendous amount of court in serve receive and defense, showing advanced platform control, quick reactions, and the ability to keep plays alive under pressure. Her passing accuracy allows the offense to stay in system, and terminate at a high clip.   What separates her even further is her effort in coverage and transition play. She does an outstanding job staying engaged after the initial attack, reacting quickly to blocked balls and keeping rallies alive with fearless pursuit and strong instincts around the court. Her communication and leadership help organize the backcourt, and she plays with a calm but competitive presence that stabilizes her team during long rallies and pressure moments.   Zoe combines technical skill, toughness, and volleyball intelligence at a very high level, making her one of the more impactful defensive players in the 2028 class. She has really stood out to us with her overall game play and can't wait to see her progress in the years to come!     Kennedy has been playing at an elite level this season for Revolution. One thing that stands out about her is her ability to lead her team, with her energy and her communication/organization in defense and serve receive. She plays with a passion and energy that is contagious and makes the players around her better. This is also noticeable in defense as she is talking about what she sees from the other team, and gives her hitters what is open on offense. She is constantly talking and hyping up her teammates which is a demonstration of her leadership qualities.   Her first contact quality has improved, especially in serve receive, where she is learning to stay balanced and trust her footwork. She covers ground well, reads hitters more effectively than many players her age, and does not shy away from difficult plays.   She showed the ability to handle heavy serve receive pressure while still making plays defensively all over the court. The motor, anticipation, and leadership qualities were impossible to ignore throughout the season.    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Liberos to watch outside the top 40</h2>    Faith is a libero to watch outside the top 40 and stands out with being one of the more athletic liberos in the class. She is extremely steady in serve receive, showing clean platform angles and the confidence to handle a heavy volume of serves against high-level competition. She communicates well, brings effort defensively, and competes with toughness.   She moves well laterally, stays active defensively, and does a good job pursuing balls outside her zone. Her platform control is improving, allowing her to deliver cleaner passes and keep the offense in system more often on the defensive side of the ball.   She proved to be the type of libero every coach wants on the floor being steady, vocal, and dependable under pressure. With her defensive range and high volleyball IQ, her ceiling continues to rise heading into the next club season.     Cadence is a libero to watch and I have a feeling she won't be ranked outside the top 40 for too long. Defensively, she reads attackers well and reacts quickly, allowing her to make difficult digs look routine while extending rallies with effort and composure. Her movement is efficient, balanced, and under control, helping her stay in position even during fast-paced sequences.   From the service line, she applies pressure with a tough, consistent serve that forces opponents out of system and creates scoring opportunities for her team. Defensively, her court IQ stands out immediately as she reads hitters early, recognizes tendencies, and positions herself extremely well before contact, allowing her to make plays that many defenders cannot reach. She seems to know where the ball is going well before anyone else on the floor can react.   Cadence is a libero who is going to turn some heads over the next year. She has shown us she can play at an elite level and has really progressed in her overall game this season.     Olivia is someone to keep an eye on especially as her team heads into NIT and nationals this year. She is a libero who is showing a ton of progress this season and should jump up the rankings if she keeps playing this well during school season. Her serve receive is really starting to turn heads. She passes with such ease, even against tough servers and always seems to get her platform to the proper location with an angle toward the setter. Her technique to move to pass the ball is flawless as she anticipates well and can move with purpose to get to the correct spot.   Beyond the technical side, she brings vocal leadership, competitive energy, and a calm presence that teammates naturally feed off of during momentum swings. Her teammates seem to feed off her energy and she brings a competitive fire that we love to see out of liberos. She refuses to let balls fall and will go after and chase a lot of balls more kids would give up on.   Her ability to control first contact and extend rallies stood out throughout the season. The combination of quick reactions, competitive mentality, and composure makes her a name to continue tracking in the 2028 class.
