Another top libero from NIT weakened, Carsen did a great job with her play as the defensive leader for her team. She was great in serve receive, continuously passing 2’s and 3’s as a passer to get her team in rhythm and in system throughout the tournament. In serve receive she did a good job always communicating who was taking what ball, and always jumping into lanes to take any 50-50 balls in serve receive. She is super reliable with her passing in this regard and can pass hard driven serves and read the short ones as well.
Not to be out done with her defense, she was hard working in this area as well. She dug a ton of balls, and hard driven ones as well. She was also able to see some off speed shots and had the speed and footwork to get good touches on tips or setter dumps when needed. She moves super well and has great technique when it comes to passing in both defense and serve receive as she always great good angles and good contact points. It was easy to tell by watching her play that she was one of the standouts from Summer NIT.

Carsen is a riser who is making waves this season with her game play in both region and at NQs. She is exceptionally strong in serve receive, consistently delivering accurate passes while handling tough float servers with confidence and control. She seems to take up a ton of ground in serve receive, playing in the seams, and taking a ton of balls that aren’t intended for her. She will keep her team in system with her high level passes throughout the match.
She also brings tremendous value in coverage, never giving up on plays and constantly putting herself in position to keep the ball alive around the block and outside the court. Combined with her communication, leadership, and relentless energy, she gives her team stability in the backcourt and impacts winning in ways that do not always show up on the stat sheet.
Carsen is elite with her passing, defense, and movement, but also brings a lot more to a team besides that. She has been a riser in the overall rankings this year, and someone who is going to make waves at nationals and beyond this season.

A libero making a huge leap we see Carsen jumping from 38 in our initial ranking all the way into the top 20 this time!
One thing we love about watching Carsen play is she is the loudest communicator on the floor, organizing serve receive and defensive positioning while bringing a calming presence to her team in those aspects of the game. She is someone who can be relied on to pass consistently to keep her team in system and most teams have to avoid her or else deal with a high level in system team.
What separates a true top 20 prospect isn’t just effort, but precision: she delivers clean, consistent passes under pressure, reads hitters early, and covers massive areas of the court with quick reactions and anticipation. Her platform is steady, her footwork is efficient, and she thrives in chaotic moments where others break down.
Carsen is a top level libero, easily top 3 in her class and one of the best regardless of class. She is someone who can do it all with her defense, serve receive, and ability to lead a team. She is someone every coach would love to have as a libero and someone who deserves her jump in our latest rankings.
