2028 Setters: Rising Juniors Running the Show

This group of 2028 setters will be running the show as upperclassmen when the fall high school season begins. Summer ball and camps are underway, and before we know it, September will be here, and high school teams will be chasing state titles. Experienced setters approach the game with a plan and a level of confidence that only comes from experience. They have the composure to execute a high-risk set with a match on the line, or terminate the point themselves if that's what the team needs to win.    Box has an aggressive style as an attacker and as a setter- she can turn and hammer a kill when a set is tight, and she has a good vertical and excellent power when she is attacking on the pins. Her timing was on point as a blocker, and at 5'7", she was able to create block touches and blocks with her athleticism and strength. Box will be part of an exciting Glacier Peak team this fall as the Grizzlies chase a state trophy.     Nimmergut does an excellent job setting on the move. The Roosevelt 2028 can run full speed, then get her feet to the ball and slow down enough not to overset her attacker. When she has to stay on the move, Nimmergut uses her smooth and accurate platform to keep the offense moving. Her defensive play is disciplined; she doesn't leave early and knows when to play the ball overhead with her hands to prevent an easy kill to the deep corner.     The Central Kitsap setter/right side has a heavy left-handed swing when attacking and soft, accurate sets when running the offense. Pasi is aggressive at the net and a dynamic jump setter who can get up and keep a tight pass from turning into an overpass. The 2028 prospect is a fun player to watch; she has energy and passion and should be a force in the     Anardi played with confidence and made smart decisions as part of an excellent 6-2 setter pairing for NPJ Seattle National this club season. The Sumner prospect has quick feet and strong hands- at 5'2", Anardi can send it to the outside pin to find a good swing for her team. Her middles have to be ready on every play. Anardi has the ability and willingness to set the middle from well off the net, keeping all her options open.     Salmon celebrates hard for her hitters when they put down a kill- she does a terrific job bringing the energy and keeping her attackers in the flow of the game. The North Creek prospect has some deception in her bag- she can reverse the flow and get her attacker an easy one-up swing, and Salmon picks the right moments to attack on two from the setter's spot.
