We get it—-this week is the beginning of the rest of the recruiting trail for the class of 2028. But what about the remaining class of ‘27 athletes that are MORE than capable of holding their own at the next level? There are so many to choose from that I had difficulty leveling down this list to just a couple of positions and five per position group. Here are five pin attackers from around the state that have held their own at open-level tournaments all spring long and should be receiving the call from a college sooner rather than later.

As you can see in the profile pic on the left, Paige is a winner no matter where she goes. Currently found on Munciana's Samurai roster, Miss Rudolph is a high-flying and heavy-hitting outside hitter that can terminate from just about everywhere. With strength and stamina for days, coupled with high-end training with the best the state of Indiana has to offer at the 18 Open level, Paige's lack of a commitment will constitute a steal for someone willing to add to their outside hitting position group at the next level.

Two Westfield kids in a row? Considering the playoff run the Shamrocks just had last fall, it's not that hard to believe. Audrey is a hard-hitting and physical right side that can terminate from either pin, but looks far more natural on the right. At current, I don't project her to be much more than a three-rotation pin at the next level, yet those three rotations will have maximized points for her squad when she's in there. Watch out for her this coming fall as well, as Westfield returns almost all of their massive talent from last fall.

Staying with the northern suburbs of Indianapolis, Jenna is the ball-control outside that looks lithe but plays much stronger than her frame might otherwise indicate. I like her unassuming attitude and work she puts in, as she's a no-nonsense, get-it-done type of player that can play all the way around for anyone who needs a low-risk, high-reward player in their position group.

Looking at the profile pic on the left, you can see immediately what Ella brings to the table—-massive jumping ability with a huge arm and a lot of upside. Miss Mensch is another example of a pin attacker (most likely a right side at the next level) who can terminate on both pins and does so without the flash and fury of a “look at me” player so common in this era of social media.

With a calling card of hitting high and hard, Paige is a pin attacker on KiVA's top 17s team, a roster that's tough to crack if you're not from Kentucky. Her compact and quick swing, along with a high volleyball IQ, should have colleges come calling any day now, as her ability to play all the way around on either pin should earn her more playing time at the next level.
