I think I first watched Cala Haffner play 15 Open when she was a 7th grader. The libero out of Fort Wayne has played with maturity beyond her years for Pineapple High Performance. She is now on the radar for USAV where she has been part of the Youth National squads. Being form Fort Wayne, Indiana there are plenty of options to remain close to home. Of course we hae IPFW right in Fort Wayne, but she has in state options in Big Ten programs in Indiana and Purdue. Wisconsin could be looking for a libero in the 28 Class and Louisville down the road could be appealing for Haffner as well. Either way, she is going to be the top pick in regard to liberos in the Class of 2028.

The Kubik family has been through the recruiting process before. Madi went to Nebraska, Hayden went to Nebraska and then finished at Tennessee, while Peyton Kubik in the Class of 2027 gave her verbal to Pitt. Jensen has quite the skill set as an all around six rotation outside hitter where she has been a standout for Dynasty. She has Kansas and Kansas State down the road where both of those programs would be a great fit. Another program that could be intriguing is Mizzou. This would be a short drive from home and coach Dawn Sullivan has been able to bring in some high level talent to Colombia.

Being from North Carolina there are plenty of local options that are appealing. Chloe Burbage is going to be a must get setter for those ACC squads in state. North Carolina in Chapel Hill has been building some big recruiting classes and looking to take the next step in getting in that top tier of ACC programs. A program that could be a great fit in the ACC For Burbage is Pitt. They have the attackers, they have momentum, and getting an athlete deep out of ACC country would be huge for the Panthers and a loss for North Carolina.

I was able to watch Madlen Gloessner for NORCO at the Northern Lights Qualifier in Minneapolis back in January. So impressive. She scores in so many different ways and is a problem for opposing attackers because she just finds a way to take up space. She was a key part of the USA Youth National team. There's Colorado and Colorado State, but Northern Colorado might be the program with the most momentum coming off a NCAA Tournament appearance. Just West of Gloessner I'm sure Utah and BYU could be giving her a call on June 15. And there's always Nebraska. Nebraska has had great success with Colorado athletes and could Gloessner be on who is next in the mix?

Michigan and Michigan State are definitely on the up and up. Coach Kristen Kelsay at Michigan State made a major splash in the recruiting world with the Class of 2027. Michigan has a strong current sophomore class and will most likely be looking for a large class in 2028. McKenzie Andrews would be a big get for both of these programs. Andrews is one of the top middles in the country and plays for the Legacy 16s team. She recently went to camp at Kentucky which would always be a great fit for Andrews and the Wildcats.

The MVP of the NORCECA U17 Continental Championships has been fun to keep tabs on this past year. The top player out of Minnesota's Class of 2028 will be highly sought after come June 15. Minnesota has been able to get some of the top kids in the state and always has a strong connection to Northern Lights. She will be a prime target for the Gophers, however there will be plenty of Big Ten teams who will be looking to get Jameson on their roster as well. A six rotation right side attacker who can score from anywhere on the court.

Maija Mortensen along with her teammate Taylor Freeland are human highlight reels. They has length, strength, and power. Their game is so dynamic as some of the top players in Utah as well as the country. Mortensen would be a huge pick up for BYU who will be looking to make a splash in the Class of 2028 under new coach Rob Nelson. Mortensen has been to the BYU camp recently, but also was at the Wisconsin camp that had plenty of the top prospects from the Class of 2028.

Averi Bridges has been playing up on the VCN 17s team out of Lincoln who has strung together quite the season. She is one of the top liberos in the Class of 2028 in Nebraska along with the rest of the country being part of the USAV Youth National team. She has Nebraska and Creighton down the road, but she recently went to camps at Minnesota and Wisconsin. Wisconsin has Lincoln, Nebraska native Natalie Wardlow and Minnesota has McKinley Moser coming from the Class of 2027 who plays for VCN with Bridges.
