June 15 is one of the most important dates on the recruiting calendar, and if I'm a college coach, these are six middle blockers I'm making sure are on my contact list.

This is only the beginning of what Minnesota has to offer, but this group has already separated itself. They play with a maturity that is hard to find at their age. Their footwork is cleaner. Their timing is advanced. They understand how to impact matches beyond the stat sheet, whether it's taking away space at the net, staying available in transition, or creating offensive opportunities that change momentum.

The talent in Minnesota continues to be among the best in the country, and these middle blockers are a big reason why. Whether you're a Division I, Division II, Division III, or NAIA coach, these are athletes worth evaluating closely. They already carry themselves with the work ethic, competitiveness, and volleyball IQ needed to succeed at the next level.

If you haven't started tracking these names yet, now is the time.

[player_tooltip player_id='746503' first='Peyton' last='Dornfeld'] is one of the most complete two-way middle blockers in this group because of how many ways she impacts a match. I've watched offenses try to establish rhythm against her, and she consistently finds ways to disrupt it. She closes quickly, takes away seams, and forces setters to think twice about where they want to attack.

Offensively, she stays available in transition and does an excellent job establishing herself as a first-tempo option. The best middles make life easier for everyone around them, and Dornfeld does exactly that. She has a knack for influencing points before the stat sheet ever gives her credit.~Theresa@prepdigdakotas

[player_tooltip player_id='545498' first='Brielle' last='Gunderson'] brings a physical presence that changes the way teams attack. Her block timing continues to separate her from many players in her class. She doesn't simply get her hands over the net. She penetrates, seals space, and forces offenses into lower-percentage swings.

What I like most is that she understands how to score efficiently. She isn't relying on power alone. She works to create advantages, stays connected to the setter, and continues to find ways to be effective in the middle of the court. Her combination of physicality and discipline makes her a difficult matchup on both sides of the ball.~Theresa@prepdigdakotas

If I'm building a recruiting board of middle blockers in Minnesota's 2028 class, [player_tooltip player_id='702576' first='Lillian' last='Ruschoff'] is one of the first names I'm writing down.

What makes her different is how complete her game has become. She impacts matches as a blocker, stays available as a first-tempo attacker, and understands how to create opportunities that don't always show up on a stat sheet. The longer you watch her, the more you appreciate how many things she does well. Her footwork is efficient, her transition work is consistent, and she has a strong understanding of when to establish herself offensively and when to create opportunities for the players around her.

What continues to impress me is how comfortable she looks regardless of the situation. Whether the pass is perfect or the rally breaks down, she finds ways to stay involved and continue applying pressure. She doesn't disappear for stretches of a match, which is something that separates high-level middles from good ones.

College coaches looking for a middle who can impact both sides of the ball, understand offensive tempo, and continue growing at the next level should have Ruschoff near the top of their recruiting list.~Theresa@prepdigdakotas

[player_tooltip player_id='643677' first='Neysa' last='Allen'] brings a competitive edge that is difficult to teach. There is very little wasted movement in her game. She gets off the floor quickly, stays engaged from rally start to finish, and works relentlessly to create second and third opportunities.

When matches get tight, she's the type of player that continues competing at the same pace regardless of the score. Defensively, she tracks hitters well and takes away angles. Offensively, she remains active in transition and continues challenging blockers by staying available throughout rallies. Her motor never seems to slow down.~Theresa@prepdigdakotas

[player_tooltip player_id='630728' first='Katelyn' last='Scheevel'] brings a level of consistency that coaches appreciate. Every rally looks intentional. Her movement patterns are clean, her timing is reliable, and she understands how to influence a match without forcing plays.

One of her biggest strengths is her ability to establish the middle early, which opens opportunities for the entire offense. As the speed of play increases, she remains composed and disciplined. That maturity is difficult to teach and is one of the reasons she continues separating herself from many players in her class.~Theresa@prepdigdakotas

[player_tooltip player_id='734239' first='Madilyn' last='Zwart'] possesses the type of all-around middle blocker skill set that college coaches actively search for. She impacts matches at the net with her ability to close blocks and take away space, but her transition game is what continually catches my attention.

You can see how quickly she works from block responsibility back into the offense, and that creates problems for opposing defenses. She gets off the net efficiently, re-establishes herself offensively, and consistently gives her setter a quality first-tempo option. As the level rises, middles who can transition efficiently become increasingly valuable, and Zwart continues to show that ability.~Theresa@prepdigdakotas
