My next set of NIT standouts can come from any division! I am obviously an AZ scout but talent is talent and if you stood out and I was able to watch you it doesn't matter where you are from or what division. I am emptying out the notebook here with this final list of standouts!

Hopefully you have enjoyed our NIT coverage as we switch from that to our USAV Nationals coverage! As always please send us your schedules and videos as you head off to nationals! We look forward to seeing AZ crush it at USAV!

Addison is a top level setter who who thoroughly impressed me over the 3 day tournament. My favorite thing about watching her play is the ability she has to deliver great sets from both in system pass or an out of system pass. She was able to run the middles from a lot of locations that most setters are unable to do. She always seemed to make the smart decision with her choices and setting to give her hitters the best chance to score. She is the type of player that makes everyone around her better! She also did well with her ability to keep teams honest with her offense. She is always a threat to score in the front row and made sure to take advantage multiple times when the opportunity called for it. What made her tournament even more impressive was her ability to help with her defense (both front and back row) and her serving to keep teams out of system or targeting specific players who were weaker. Her tournament really showcased the whole package and she was an easy pick for a Summer NIT standout.

Alex really played well at NIT and I was able to see a setter who has grown a lot this season and is really going to show out next season if her play continues as it was. Alex has really strong hands and consistent locations with her sets, and always seemed to set a ball that was excellent for her hitters to terminate. What really separated Alex in my eyes from some other setters is how athletic she is. She moves very well laterally and covers a lot of ground on the court in a way to always get her hands on the ball. That also helps with her defense and ability to transition from setting back to base. She moves and flows effortlessly around the floor to get great touches on the ball whether as a setter or a defender. She brings that high level energy to the table as well, she seems to be a big hype person for her hitters and communicates super well during/before plays. Her level of play throughout the weekend was excellent, and made it easy to pick her as a Summer NIT standout.

Lola really had a great tournament as a libero and is someone who is going to rise up the ranking board if she continues her amazing play. The best part about her game is her ability to read hitters and anticipating where the ball is going when someone is getting set. She is reading and taking mental notes on hitters tendencies and seems to get to the correct spot as the hitter is making contact. Even if she was a bit out of position she always was willing to hit the floor and sacrifice her body with a full out dive to keep the ball alive. She moves super well as a libero too, always seemed to be in a great position to pass not only in defense but in serve receive as well. I would consider her a ball hog, which is the best compliment you can give a libero as she always wanted the ball, and would always seem to find it. Her play throughout the weekend was exceptional, and she really brings the level of her team up with her game play. An easy choice as a standout!

Addison did really well during Summer NIT for Omni and seemed to be a steady presence when we saw her play. She displaying excellent ball control whether she be in defense or serve receive and would deliver accurate passing that allowed the team to stay in system. One thing I like about Addison's game as a libero is how well she moves on the floor to cover a hitter or the space she can take up in defense. She always seems to be moving to the ball and can transition back to a great defensive position each play. She gets a lot of touches on the ball just by her hustle alone, and seems to be relentless in her pursuit of the ball or the proper position on the floor. She is also capable of delivering those high level passes even against top level competition. She can fill the gap in the block, take a deflection and make it playable, or play a ball up that no one can get to. A libero who can play any ball and make it playable on top of the great passes in serve receive and defense make Addison a standout from Summer NIT.

Reagan had a great 3 days at Summer NIT as well for Club One and was someone on multiple coaches radars as a top performer. One thing about her game that stands out above some other liberos is her quality of passes in serve receive. She was always passing with accuracy and control and made the life of the setter easy whenever she was getting served. She seemed to always be passing a 2 or 3 and made the life of the setter easy and kept everyone in system throughout the weekend. She also played exceptional defense and showed a ton of range throughout the tournament with her ability to keep plays alive in tough moments, but also the ability to get quality touches on balls that might be deemed too tough or not in the range of most liberos. She also seems to be a high energy player whose teammates feed off of when the time comes. We do love seeing a high energy libero who plays extremely great volleyball. This is why Reagan was an easy choice to be a standout from Summer NIT.

Olivia is a setter who has the ability to play all 6 rotations when called upon. She has the type of game to be a hitter, setter, defender, or I am sure even a libero if needed. As a setter she is already great with her footwork and ability to get the ball from pin to pin. As a younger setter she doesn't need much help in the technique department as she already can make tough sets, and consistently deliver hittable balls from all places on the floor. A big plus I saw was how well she plays/hustles in defense. She always seemed to be giving maximum effort and was getting a ton of touches on balls just to keep plays alive while in defense. She also is able to chip in on offense as well, not only with her setter dumps but also as a hitter. When she was front row it seemed that the ball would always end up going to her, especially in tight situations which really shows how good of a player she is to get the ball in that moment. Her team played excellent throughout the weekend and she was a big reason why which is why she is a standout from Summer NIT.

Kelbie was an outside hitter who really stood out to me as I watched her play against an AZ team and really tear it up with her all around play. She is a strong but athletic hitter who can beat you in a lot of different ways with just her offensive game. She swings with a lot of purpose, and has an absolute arm on her in terms of her arm speed and ability to contact the ball. Kelbie can easy hit around and over a block when needed but the one thing was her court IQ to be able to tool the block when needed. Even if the block was set she didn't seem to mind and could go high hands or tool off the opposing team to win a point. Not only could she score with her offense, she also has the ability to develop into that 6 rotational outside hitter who plays elite defense and serve receive. I saw a ton of flashes of the elite 6 rotational player that is going to take Idaho by storm next fall during school season and in a few years she might be a common household name! Was a standout player during the weekend, and an easy choice for me to include in this article!

Jade is the type of player who would be on of the best players in AZ if she was ranked. She is a top level player who really can change the game with her game play. She is a setter who brings a massive jump top spin serve that isn't a gimmick, it is a serious weapon that puts teams on their heels and got a lot of out of system balls. The one thing about her is she seemed to score points in so many ways, whether it be her serve, hitting, or setting to get hitters a ball to terminate. On the setting side she is strong with her hands and has great form for a 2029. She seems to always deliver a quality ball to her hitters and was able to know the correct match up to exploit with her play. She also has an absolute cannon on her when she is in the front row. She scores a ton of points when she isn't setting and giving the other hitters the ball to score. A true 6 rotational setter that is getting more and more rare in terms of a top level attack and setter. She was an easy choice as a standout from Summer NIT weekend and a name that will probably turn some heads in the coming years.

We have a lot more content coming from this incredible event! If you missed this one, be sure to tag us in your schedules for NIT, Nationals, and Festival! If you want more exposure, be sure to attend one of the Prep Dig AZ showcases in August! My next set of NIT standouts can come from any division! I am obviously an AZ scout but talent is talent and if you stood out and I was able to watch you it doesn't matter where you are from or what division. I am emptying out the notebook here with this final list of standouts!
