Raising Their Level as Summer Recruiting Heats Up

What separates some players is their ability to raise their level when the gym gets more competitive, the drills get more demanding, and the expectations get higher.   Throughout a college camp, several athletes consistently found ways to impact the environment around them through their communication, leadership, effort, and competitive presence. They stayed engaged when the pace increased, encouraged teammates when adversity showed up, and continued to bring energy from the first whistle to the last rep.   College coaches are constantly looking for athletes who can maintain their standard regardless of the situation. The players featured below repeatedly demonstrated the habits that help teams compete at a higher level and often inspire those around them to do the same.    Kailynn Jackson consistently found ways to impact the court. She made plays happen, remained coachable throughout the camp, and played with a positive energy that was noticeable from start to finish. She consistently worked to keep balls alive and helped organize play through her communication. More importantly, she consistently looked like she was enjoying the game. She communicated in both the front and back row, maintained quality footwork, and consistently stayed engaged in the flow of the game. She consistently connected with teammates, maintained focus, and approached every rep with purpose. She carried herself confidently, communicated effectively, and helped create a positive atmosphere for her teammates. She stayed engaged while on the court and continued supporting teammates when she was off it, helping maintain focus and energy throughout the session.
