USAV GJNC Showcase: Outside Hitters Worth Following

Sometimes it's elite athleticism, polished footwork, or simply the way an athlete competes throughout the session. While development looks different for every player, these outside hitters each displayed qualities that suggest their best volleyball is still ahead of them.   Whether it was physical upside, offensive mechanics, or the ability to consistently challenge defenders, this group made a strong impression during Session 1 and earned a place on the list of athletes worth continuing to follow.    Tobi McFall's arm speed immediately stood out. She generated impressive pace through a fast, efficient swing and consistently contacted the ball cleanly, allowing her attacks to jump off her hand. Her offensive mechanics remained compact and repeatable throughout the session, giving her the ability to produce quality swings without overcomplicating the attack. She demonstrated the type of terminal attacking ability that can continue creating problems for opposing defenses.   ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247     Bella McNaughton showcased impressive explosiveness throughout the showcase. She elevated well above the net, creating quality contact points while driving the ball with authority. Her strong arm swing complemented her athletic ability, allowing her to attack confidently from the left pin. As she continues developing her offensive game, her combination of vertical explosiveness and power gives her considerable long-term upside.   ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247     Olivia Petersen consistently demonstrated a mature offensive approach for a young outside hitter. She showcased quality ball control, remained engaged throughout the session, and attacked with a quick arm that produced solid pace. One of her more impressive traits was the way she accelerated through contact, creating a clean whip at the top of the ball. Combined with her volleyball IQ and steady competitiveness, she was one of the more intriguing young athletes in attendance.   ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247     Aziah Amosa displayed an offensive skill set with exciting long-term potential. She attacked with variety, showed a willingness to explore different scoring options, and flashed the ability to develop into a heavy-ball attacker as her physical game continues to mature. She kept rallies moving, made quality decisions within the flow of play, and maintained offensive rhythm throughout the session. She consistently placed herself in position to create quality swings while maintaining balance throughout her approach.
