AAU Wave 6 Gems: Familiar Faces and New Names Who Delivered

As always, there were plenty of familiar faces who continued to impress, along with a handful of new players who made their way onto my radar. She is incredibly athletic, versatile, and fiercely competitive. As one of the "go to" attackers on her team, she has the ability to put balls away with power and purpose all over the court. While her offensive power is certainly entertaining to watch, it's the little things that really stand out to me. She plays excellent off blocker defense, attacks the ball in serve receive instead of shying away from it, and consistently hustles to make herself part of every play. She was a steady server who consistently put pressure on opposing passers and she brought the same reliability to the backcourt with solid defensive coverage from side line to side line. She also was able to terminate to generate points and side outs. She is the backbone of her Iron [program_tooltip program_id='431954' first='Impact' last=''] team, setting the tone with her leadership, confidence, and reliable presence on the court. She has a great feel for the game, reads the defense well, recognizes openings, isn't afraid to get her middles involved even when the pass is off the net, and does an excellent job of moving the ball around to keep blockers guessing. After grinding though 3 days of pool play, they earned a spot in the Gold Bracket on the final day. I have only really seen Kujak as a middle, but was happy to see her out there as an outside. Her athleticism, versatility, and overall skill set translate really well to the position. She was putting balls away from the pin, cleaning up off target balls, and was finding ways to score even when the play wasn't perfect. I wasn't very familiar with her club, so I made a point to check them out, and I'm glad I did. The 6 rotation outside made an impression with her all around game. She was able to find the seam, came through with several timely kills when her team needed points, and proved to be valuable in the back row. She covered a lot of court and came up with some well timed digs and saves. She made a solid impression on this young team with the way she worked on every point. She transitioned, was consistent from the service line, and did the little things that often do translate to new middles. When she wasn't attacking, she did a nice job covering her pin and staying engaged in every play. She brought steady effort and contributed in ways that help her team beyond just terminating the ball. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
