The month that brought us the first direct communication between the 2028 Class and college coaches resulted in a large swath of the group committing programs on the next level. If she's still available because programs on the next level aren't pursuing her, that's whacky. The Dowling Catholic and Iowa United Timmerman junior is a prototypical right-side hitter. It's a lefty hammer from the opposite pin. She punishes opponents consistently on in-system sets. An explosive athlete with a strong vertical and long arms, Crane is an intimidating two-way performer that can lead an attack or throw up a block that stymies attackers challenging her. It's been fun watching the growth of her game during the last few years in taking advantage of every rep for PowerPlex and Dallas Center-Grimes, who she helped reach last year's state semifinals. Jackson is a smart volleyball player that learns opponent tendencies as the match goes on. She's technically sound when passing, whether it be defending against the attack or in serve-receive. Jackson communicates well with her teammates and acts as a coach on the floor. She followed up that performance with a productive sophomore campaign at Dowling Catholic last fall. The ability to end points with power and throw up an effective block against the state's top competition solidified her place among the state's best opposite pins. Stanfel has raised her stock even more with a dominant club year with PowerPlex. She's steadily adding power to her game and refining her volleyball skills. The fact that she still has plenty of room to develop before reaching her potential should be very attractive for programs on the next level. The Southeast Polk junior offers colleges excellent height, long arms and athleticism at the setter position. Her sets are on point with optimal elevation. Weiland reads the defense well and finds attackers with advantages. Her swing is improving as is her efficiency in blocking. It's a rock-solid platform that generates consistency in serve-receive. Lateral quickness and sharp reflexes lead to proper positioning against the opposing attack. Ruddy flows well with the action and covers a lot of ground, including a knack for being behind the block. She commands the back row with excellent communication in keeping the team on the same page.
