Houston Stock Up Showcase Top Performers Vol 5

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Prep Dig Texas Showcases are back!  We had some big events that were held at the Competitive Edge Sports Complex on July 25^th.  The Houston Stock Up showcase was amazing! These events always bring together athletes from across the state looking to compete in front of college coaches while being evaluated by Prep Dig scouts and court coaches. There were tons of awesome players that we evaluated from their awesome production. Showcases like this continue to provide a valuable platform for athletes to be seen, tested, and recognized for their individual performance and intangibles. She was steady all day at the Houston Showcase, passing with purpose and tracking down difficult balls without making them look harder than they needed to be. At 5'3" she plays the game entirely on instinct and technical discipline and both were on display throughout the event. Court coaches loved how she battled against every team no matter who she went up against. She never got flustered and never got too high either. That kind of even keel is exactly what a back row needs and Hernandez brings it naturally. We will continue to watch her progress and you should also. Her WD Nation 15 Blue roster won the AAU 15U Aspire National Championship this past season and she was named to the All-Tournament team, so the competitive experience is real. At 5'11" she sets from a release point that creates genuine problems for blockers trying to read her hand, and the variety she showed in her tempo calls throughout the Houston Showcase kept her hitters in rhythm and the opposing block guessing. Court coaches enjoyed watching her run the offense with players she was meeting for the first time. She adapted quickly and kept her composure when passes were not where she wanted them. There is a lot of game ahead of her in the 2030 class and the foundation is already impressive. The 5'3" libero from Westfield was quick and decisive in the back row all day and her reads were consistently a step ahead of where most players her age are operating. She passed well under pressure and never gave the opposition an easy point by breaking down at first contact when the serve got tough. Her energy lifted the players around her and the court coaches appreciated how she kept her team connected throughout the competitive portions of the event. She is making a name for herself as one of the more reliable young defensive players to come through our showcases.
