Seven Standout Prospects Share Their VFA Summer Games Experience

The inaugural Vegas For Athletes (VFA) Summer Games brought a unique, Olympic-style atmosphere to Las Vegas from June 22–26, uniting athletes from a wide range of sports for a week of competition, celebration, and community. Complete with Opening and Closing Ceremonies, the event gave local volleyball players a rare opportunity to compete close to home while chasing championship rings and creating lasting memories. For Brenna, the inaugural Vegas For Athletes Summer Games was about much more than volleyball. The week was filled with new friendships, unforgettable moments, and a team bond that made the experience one to remember.   <blockquote class="wp-block-quote"> I've made a lot of memories and met new people from this event. Overall, with everything they had to offer, I simply had an amazing time. </blockquote>   What was your favorite part of being part of the inaugural Vegas For Athletes Summer Games, and why?   “My favorite part was seeing everyone connect with one another and come together. I made a lot of memories, met new people, and really enjoyed everything the event had to offer. It was also great being able to laugh with my coaches and teammates while talking about what was ahead for the rest of the summer.”   Is there a match or moment you'll remember for a long time?   “Our very last match is something I'll never forget. Everyone on our team brought incredible energy and a drive to win. It was a close match, but we persevered. When we scored the final point, everyone erupted in celebration. The atmosphere and excitement from that match made it unforgettable.”   Would you participate again next season?   “Absolutely. In just one week, I created so many unforgettable memories and reached new achievements. I'd love the opportunity to come back, set new goals, continue learning, and make even more memories.”   What song best represents your team's weekend?   “We Are the Champions.”     Competing against new opponents and challenging herself were the biggest highlights of the inaugural Vegas For Athletes Summer Games for Teagan. The event provided valuable experience and an opportunity to measure herself against strong competition.   <blockquote class="wp-block-quote"> It was a very eye-opening experience and allowed me to compete against many different teams while meeting lots of new people. </blockquote>   What was your favorite part of being part of the inaugural Vegas For Athletes Summer Games, and why?   "It allowed me to compete against many different teams and meet lots of new people. It was a very eye-opening experience, and I enjoyed getting to play against athletes I hadn't faced before."   Is there a match or moment you'll remember for a long time?   "My match against Nectr stands out the most. It was a lot of fun, and competing against players who were better than me helped me grow and pushed me to improve."   Would you participate again next season?   "Yes. I'd definitely participate again."     For Kianna, the inaugural Vegas For Athletes Summer Games offered the perfect blend of high-level competition and an unforgettable atmosphere. From the Opening Ceremony to competing alongside some of the area's top athletes, the experience left a lasting impression.   <blockquote class="wp-block-quote"> It was amazing to be part of the very first Summer Games, knowing that I was helping start a new tradition. </blockquote>   What was your favorite part of being part of the inaugural Vegas For Athletes Summer Games, and why?   "My favorite part was definitely the atmosphere and competition. Being surrounded by so many talented athletes who all shared the same passion made the experience exciting and motivating. Everyone encouraged each other while still giving their best effort, which created a positive and competitive environment. The memories, friendships, and experiences I gained made it an unforgettable event."   Is there a match or moment you'll remember for a long time?   "The Opening Ceremony is something I'll always remember. Seeing athletes from all over Las Vegas come together, celebrate, and have a great time before the competition even started was really special."   Would you participate again next season?   "Most definitely."   What song best represents your team's weekend?   "Sky Walker" — Miguel     For Martha, the inaugural Vegas For Athletes Summer Games was about more than just competing on the court. The event's unique festivities helped create lasting memories with her teammates while providing competitive matches that tested her team throughout the week.   <blockquote class="wp-block-quote"> We were able to make fun memories before playing as a team, and that's something I'll always remember. </blockquote>   What was your favorite part of being part of the inaugural Vegas For Athletes Summer Games, and why?   "My favorite part of the Games was all of the festivities before and after competition. Seeing the artist perform 'Teach Me How to Dougie' live was really fun, and it gave our team a chance to relax, laugh together, and make great memories before we even stepped on the court."   Is there a match or moment you'll remember for a long time?   "Our first match stands out the most. It went to three sets, and our team had to settle down, trust each other, and play the way we normally do in order to come away with the win. It was a great learning experience."   Would you participate again next season?   "Yes!!"   What song best represents your team's weekend?   "Teach Me How to Dougie" — Cali Swag District     For Erynn, the inaugural Vegas For Athletes Summer Games was memorable both on and off the court. From celebrating alongside athletes during the Opening Ceremony to competing in intense matches, the event created an experience she'll remember for years to come.   <blockquote class="wp-block-quote"> I enjoyed walking around, meeting new people, and seeing all of the athletes in Vegas come together. </blockquote>   What was your favorite part of being part of the inaugural Vegas For Athletes Summer Games, and why?   "My favorite part was the parade. I liked how it shined a light on all of the athletes in Las Vegas. I enjoyed walking around, meeting new people, and the music during the parade made it even more fun."   Is there a match or moment you'll remember for a long time?   "My first match on the second day of the tournament stands out the most. We went back and forth with the other team the entire match, and the intensity made it really exciting."   Would you participate again next season?   "Yes."   What song best represents your team's weekend?   "Beauty and a Beat" — Justin Bieber     For Aniyah, the inaugural Vegas For Athletes Summer Games was an opportunity to compete, build new relationships, and be part of something bigger. The team's energy throughout the event made the experience one she'll never forget.   <blockquote class="wp-block-quote"> Getting to compete with everyone again—not only with new people, but also for a great cause—made the experience amazing. </blockquote>   What was your favorite part of being part of the inaugural Vegas For Athletes Summer Games, and why?   "Being a part of the VFA Summer Games was amazing. My favorite part was getting to compete with everyone again, not only alongside new people but also for a great cause. It made the experience even more meaningful."   Is there a match or moment you'll remember for a long time?   "The energy our team had throughout the entire tournament is something I'll always remember. Everyone had great personalities, and when it was time to cheer, you could hear us from anywhere in the gym. That kind of team chemistry made the event so much fun."   Would you participate again next season?   "I would love to participate in the VFA Summer Games again next summer. I'm excited to see how the event continues to grow."   What song best represents your team's weekend?   "Swag Surfin'"     Sanai played for Rise 18u, the winners of the 18's division.   For Sanai, the inaugural Vegas For Athletes Summer Games was about more than the final score. Competing alongside fellow athletes in a positive environment and finishing the tournament with a statement win made the week especially memorable.   <blockquote class="wp-block-quote"> Competing and doing the things I love most is always a fun experience, especially when it's for something bigger than just winning or losing. </blockquote>   What was your favorite part of being part of the inaugural Vegas For Athletes Summer Games, and why?   "My favorite part of the Vegas For Athletes Summer Games was being around a healthy community of athletes and competing for something more than just wins and losses. Competing and doing what I love most is always a fun experience, and this event made it even more meaningful."   Is there a match or moment you'll remember for a long time?   "Our final match against Nectr is one I'll always remember. After losing to them the day before, we came into the match with confidence and grit, and it led us to an exciting victory."
