Assumption, Boyd County claim crowns, more B strong performers

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Assumption Rockets put the varsity and junior varsity teams in the Varsity A Divison of the Bluegrass Games. The three-time defending state champions came in favored and did not disappoint losing just one set on the way to the crown. Assumption knocked off rival Mercy twice on the way to the crown.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In the C Division, Boyd County edged Johnson Central in three. The Lions lost just three sets on the way to the title. Shewmaker finds the hot hitters and betters out of system balls. The lefty executes a variety of sets and does not lock her arms. Shewmaker has quick reactions defensively and puts across a nice float serve. Childers showed she can handle well-struck crosses from tough hitters under control. She has turned into a reliable option for the Rockets. Dreher tools blocks for big points. Dreher makes plays from the middle and pins. Dreher puts across hard crosses and line shots. She got her hands a number of balls at the net, rejecting some good hitters. She does a good job forming sound double blocks. Cool wins jousts at the net and can place balls away from hitters. Knight takes sound swings from all six spots on the court. She is extremely sound on ones. She has nice ball control.
