Division I, Class A, Regions 1 and 2 Players to View

The South Greene Rebels are a notable program in this region that stretches from the Virginia and North Carolina borders all the way down to Chattanooga. They've gone to the state tournament 17 seasons in a row and claimed the Division I-A state championship in 2021 after finishing runner-up five times previously.    McCaslin (pictured) is a powerful hitter who hopes to help the Rebels make an 18th consecutive appearance in the state tournament. She has a heavy hand and uses it to tool blocks and get on top of balls to put great power into balls. McCaslin takes precise crosses that paint the side lines. McCaslin takes quality out of system swings and attacks seams with precision. McCaslin also mixes in nice off shots.     Heisig possesses not only a great combination of size and athleticism, but also versatility. She produces at all six spots on the court. Heisig jumpstarts the offensive rhythm with solid first contacts on serve receive and defense. When teams need a big kill, Heisig steps forward and terminates balls from both the front and back row. Heisig takes quality out of system cuts. She tools blocks and sends across solid crosses. Her ability to get on top of balls goes a long way.     Willis is a playmaker for the Buffaloes. Willis takes hard shots on go routes and sends nice off shots to back lines. Willis can tool blocks and makes a lot of things happen on slides. Willis takes those back sets and attacks holes on the court. Willis can tip off-target sets to shallow zones on the court. She also makes quality first touches on defense.     Kepper makes the simple passes for the Eagles. She is real smooth on defense and serve reception. She takes quality out of system sets and only dives when needed, but under control. Kepper does a good job backing up nicely on balls. She's shown she can handle well-struck balls and possesses good range. Kepper also sends solid line drive serves to the back lines.     Osborn makes a lot of plays at the net. Osborn tips to open spots on the court. She makes quick transitions from defense to offense and takes good roll shots. Osborn taps overpassed balls to open spots on the court. Osborn has shown she can put zip on balls when in her power zone. She can be even more effective with a sound four or even five-step attack approach.
