Jaw Dropping Performances from the MN Stock Up Showcase

Some players were new faces for me, while others were athletes I have followed throughout the club and high school seasons. Either way, the level of competition and talent in the gym was impressive. From big swings and dominant blocks to crafty setting and relentless defense, players found ways to make an impact. The showcase was a great opportunity to see athletes continue to develop, compete, and show what makes them stand out. Getting my first look at her at the showcase, I quickly realized what I had been missing. She wasn't just one of the best setters at the event, she was also one of the best players overall. She has great tempo, can set from anywhere on the court, and does a great job moving the ball around to keep defenses guessing. She has the ability to get all of her hitters involved, but she also isn't afraid to take matters into her own hands with well timed setter dumps. She has always had the physical tools as she is tall and athletic. However, at the Stock Up Showcase, she also showcased how explosive, quick, and just how well she moves both offensively and defensively. She was hands down one of the best blockers in the gym. The growth in her game since then has been really fun to watch. She was one of the more impressive backrow players at the event as she was constantly communicating and showing great instincts defensively. She is efficient in serve receive, moves well, and has a great feel for reading the game and putting herself in position to make plays. She has soft hands and consistently delivers smooth, hittable sets that put her attackers in good positions to score. She does a nice job moving the ball around the court, keeping all of her hitters involved while making it difficult for defenses to key in on just one attacker. She also isn't afraid to attack on the second ball by mixing in well timed setter dumps that keep blockers honest. She is an athletic, aggressive middle who covers a lot of ground laterally and does a great job getting her hands on balls at the net. She transitions quickly, makes herself available in the offense, and stays involved in every play. Beyond her physical skills, I really appreciated the way she competed. She plays with great energy, hustles for everything, and brings a positive attitude that is contagious. She never stopped competing, hustled after every ball and refused to give up on a play. What really impressed me was her ability to read. She anticipates well, gets herself into position early, and seems to have a 6th sense for knowing where the ball is going before it is hit. She came up with several impressive digs and saves. Her effort and instincts make her an exceptional make her an exceptional libero/DS.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
