Texas HS: Memorial survive five-set thriller against Seven Lakes

The junior's distribution was impeccable, as she managed to keep all of her hitters involved and efficient, making it very hard for Seven Lakes to anticipate her moves. Harting had good passing to work with for most of the time, but when that wasn't the case, she did a great job of moving to the ball and getting it to the pins with remarkable accuracy. She also took hitting duties for the Mustangs when at the net, coming up big in key moments to make the most of her vision and put the ball down. </p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/grtorres/status/2087335509504770351 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Schwieder was a stud for Memorial, producing well on both sides of the ball and providing great balance to the team's game. The senior outside hitter was targeted by many of Seven Lakes' serves and handled most of them well, keeping the team in system - she only struggled a little bit in serve-receive in the fifth set. Despite not being very tall, Schwieder also delivered offensively, getting off the floor well and showing excellent vision to find a way to go around the blockers or tool them whem under pressure. The pin hitter also had great efficiency when swinging from the middle back position, finding great angles to put the ball down.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2026/08/2J4A0018.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-1017714" /></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Solis was Memorial's go-to scorer and carried most of the offensive load in the team's well-balanced offense. She was set very often and managed to keep her production stable throughout a match that had many ups and downs from both sides. Solis displayed great firepower to battle at the net, going around the blockers when she could and overpowering them when her options were limited. The senior also showed solid ball control and confidence to handle the serves that went her way.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/grtorres/status/2087323869849833891/ </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Bullocks and fellow middle Megan Adams did a great job of keeping up with the power and athleticism of Seven Lakes' middle blocker duo, which is one of the best in the state. The sophomore was tireless at the net, playing with remarkable intensity, and showed impressive mobility thanks to her great footwork. Bullocks hit many different sets in the middle and managed to get some really powerful swings. Her blocking presence was also a factor as she slowed down the opposing middles and was always on time to get to the pins.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/grtorres/status/2087344334844666162/ </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Ngoh was Seven Lakes' most consistent player in the match, and her strong play helped keep her team in the game in some moments. Opponents had no answer for her incredibly high contact point and powerful swings, and the Spartans had their best moments in the game when they were in system and their senior middle managed to get into a good offensive rhythm. Ngoh's blocking also made its mark in the game, as she got some stuffs in key moments and initiated some of their comebacks with her strong play at the net.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/grtorres/status/2087319485111799880/ </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Sabelli had a lot of work to do with some of her teammates in serve-receive. The senior libero was not only the Spartans' most consistent player in that area of the game, but also stepped up to cover her teammates when needed. Sabelli also appeared well on defense, showing good quickness to track shots and tips and strong ball control to deal with more powerful swings. She had good moments at the service line, too, keeping opponents under pressure, and had a couple of good runs, helping her team win set one and create some separation on set three.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/grtorres/status/2087331225627201993/ </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Reyes had the most complete and consistent performance among the three Seven Lakes setters who appeared in the game. The junior had a good understanding of the game and fed her middles as much as she could when in system. Her out-of-system play was also solid, as she managed to get her pin hitters in good spots to make plays and even to recover some shanked passes that were going out.
