One scan through the&nbsp;<strong><a href="https://prepdig.com/iowa/rankings/2028-watch-list-2/">UPDATED RANKINGS</a></strong>&nbsp;reveals a whole lot of talent and depth. It's also a group that has two years of high school ball to get better, which is exciting.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Around 20 members of the class have found their college homes. That left quite a few student-athletes in this rankings update still available for next level. And that's OK. To her credit, whenever I'm scouting matches, she finds a way to provide reminders that she can play, too, and is a big reason for the team success. Messerly was a key component in Dallas Center-Grimes reaching state last year and helped Iowa Premier advance to the USAV Nationals in the Open Division this summer. Messerly stands out for her quick-twitch athletic traits and explosion. It's a big vertical leap with emerging power in the swing. Subbert is one of those kids. The ADM junior runs with the state's top AAU hoops team for her age group and competes with a PowerPlex outfit that reached the USAV National Tournament this summer in Indianapolis. I watched her line up a few times during the club campaign after not having seen her since last year. Subbert had made tremendous strides as a volleyballer, sharpening her skills and showing a great feel for the game. Her leaping ability and power make her an impactful, two-way performer in the middle of the net. The agility and athleticism is there to produce at the pins, too. Several D-I basketball programs have offered scholarships. She was operating at a high level against top competition. The important club campaign came on the heels of a sophomore run at Prince of Peace Catholic that saw her put down 145 kills, and come up with 119 digs and 46.0 blocks on a very youthful team. Evans looks the part as a long-limbed middle hitter that's a legit 6-foot-3. She can create power in her swing whether getting up high above the net or putting it down on quicks. It's an intimidating block already with a chance for more development from a technique standpoint. Athleticism and agility also play at the opposite pin and on the slide attack. She proved to be proficient and powerful at the pin. Heuton built on that progress this club season with SWI Third Degree, improving her efficiency at the pin. It's resulted from improved feel for the game through repetitions. Heuton keeps improving her attack locations by reading the defense and finding areas to expose. The power is increasing as is the patience to meet the set. She finds ways to help her teams in a variety of facets, making her a pain in the neck for the opposition. Having scouted the New Hampton junior with Six Pack the past few years, it's clear that the overall skills give her a path to playing time on the next level. I last saw her in person at the Mizuno Midwest Challenge during May in Des Moines. Cahoy was going a nice job working through six rotations, holding up well in covering a lot of ground in the back row and generating powerful swings in putting the ball from the pin. With room to grow her game, Cahoy offers colleges a pliable prospect ready to be molded into a productive part of the roster.
