Up Next 7th Grade Standouts New To Our Radar

Our first Middle School Showcase was a huge success, and it has us even more excited about the future of Prep Dig Arizona. The talent coming through the pipeline is incredible, and what's on the horizon is going to reshape the Arizona volleyball landscape over the next few years. We can't wait to continue showcasing the next generation of athletes and watching them make their mark.   Here are a few standouts we are excited about:    [player_tooltip player_id='1015119' first='Isabella' last='Mckibbon'] is a setter we'll be keeping a close eye on for years to come. She has a fantastic touch on the ball, plays with confidence, and never shies away from the moment. She's a steady defender, does an excellent job running the offense, and already displays the leadership qualities you love to see from a setter. It's hard to believe she's only entering 7th grade, as she plays with a level of poise and maturity well beyond her years. With such a strong foundation already in place, we're excited to watch her continue to develop and can't wait to see where her volleyball journey takes her.     [player_tooltip player_id='1001999' first='Sophia' last='Deleon'] put together a strong performance at the showcase, proving she's one to keep an eye on. She was impressive in the front row, showcasing a smooth approach, explosive athleticism, and a mechanically sound swing. Whether she was attacking from the right side or the outside, she looked comfortable and consistent. What stood out even more was her ability to contribute in the back row, holding her own in serve receive and playing solid defense throughout the day. She's already a very well-rounded player for her age, and with continued development, her ceiling is incredibly high. We're excited to follow her journey and see where the game takes her.     [player_tooltip player_id='1012817' first='Alexa' last='Schicke'] was an absolute force in the back row throughout the showcase. What stood out most was the consistency of her technical training—it showed in every rep. Whether she was playing middle back or left back, she was steady, composed, and rarely out of position, making her the type of defender every team values. She brought great energy to the court, stayed positive throughout the day, and consistently delivered quality out-of-system balls to keep rallies alive. Her athleticism was impossible to miss, and her wicked serve put opposing passers under pressure all showcase long. Alexa's relentless effort and polished defensive game make her a player to watch, and we believe she has an incredibly bright future ahead of her.     [player_tooltip player_id='1009831' first='Layla' last='Dunfee'] put together an impressive performance from start to finish at the showcase. Her mature ball control stood out immediately, allowing her to stay composed and make smart decisions in every phase of the game. Offensively, she attacks with a high contact point, generates excellent arm speed, and finishes with a clean, powerful snap. She also showed the ability to move the ball around the court, mixing up her shots and keeping defenders guessing. Beyond her offensive game, Layla was solid in off-blocker defense and consistently contributed on both sides of the ball. She's an incredibly well-rounded athlete with a bright future, and we're excited to see where the game takes her in the years ahead.     [player_tooltip player_id='1012825' first='Carissa' last='Moses'] left a lasting impression on us throughout the showcase. While she may not be the biggest player on the court, she proves time and time again that size has nothing to do with impact. She covers an incredible amount of ground in the back row, isn't afraid to hit the floor, and competes for every ball as if the rally depends on it. Her defensive technique is fundamentally sound, her communication is constant, and she does an outstanding job covering her hitters and reading the game. What we loved most was her relentless mentality—there's never a ball she considers "too hard" to chase down. She plays with unmatched effort, determination, and heart, making the kinds of plays that can completely shift momentum. Carissa's all-out approach to the game is going to take her a long way, and we're excited to watch her continue to grow throughout her career.    <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   The 2026 Summer Showcases were an incredible way to wrap up the club season, and we couldn't be more excited about the talent we saw on display.
