Standouts: Sophomore ID Camp

The coaches have spoken! Throughout the showcase, our coaching staff observed every court during gameplay, identifying athletes who consistently stood out through their skill, competitiveness, coachability,attitude and overall impact. After a full day of evaluating talent, these players earned a spot on our Coaches' Standouts list.   Each of these athletes built serious momentum throughout the event and looks poised for a strong high school season. Keep these names on your radar—they're players you'll want to watch this fall.    [player_tooltip player_id='891980' first='Bela' last='Salazar'] was one of the most impressive defenders we watched all showcase long. Her relentless hustle and determination were impossible to miss, as she chased down ball after ball and found a way to make plays regardless of the situation. She never gave up on a rally, bringing the kind of effort and competitiveness every coach wants anchoring the back row.   Beyond her defensive range, Bela was a constant communicator who brought positive energy to every point. She read opposing hitters exceptionally well, positioned herself with purpose, and consistently delivered clean out-of-system balls to keep her team's offense in rhythm. Her combination of court awareness, ball control, and relentless motor makes her a true difference-maker on defense, and we're excited to see the impact she'll make during the upcoming high school season.     [player_tooltip player_id='964689' first='Elizabeth' last='Fregoso'] was one of the standout front-row players at the showcase, impressing us with her athleticism, explosiveness, and ability to score in a variety of ways. She generates tremendous reach and puts a sharp, powerful snap on nearly every attack, making her a difficult hitter to defend.   She moves exceptionally well along the net, transitions quickly, and excelled running tempo attacks throughout the day. Whether she was attacking or blocking, Elizabeth remained a consistent force at the net and competed with confidence from start to finish.   Beyond her physical tools, Elizabeth brought outstanding energy to her court. She was constantly encouraging her teammates and helped elevate the level of play around her with her positive attitude and competitive spirit. She's a player we're excited to continue following as she develops throughout her high school career.     [player_tooltip player_id='891541' first='Abigail' last='Whitson'] brings an infectious energy to the back row that immediately stands out. She's the kind of player who earns the trust of her teammates almost instantly, giving everyone around her confidence with her steady play, constant communication, and relentless effort.   Defensively, Abigail is everywhere. She covers tirelessly, pursues every ball, and never stops talking, helping keep her team's defense organized from start to finish. Her platform is fundamentally sound, her ball control is consistent, and she has a natural ability to make difficult plays look routine.   What truly separates Abigail, though, is her volleyball IQ. She doesn't just react to the game—she anticipates it. Her ability to read hitters, recognize tendencies, and position herself before the attack allows her to consistently be in the right place at the right time. With her defensive instincts, leadership, and relentless motor, we have no doubt she'll be a player to watch at Centennial over the next few years.     [player_tooltip player_id='938073' first='Rebecca' last='Quezada'] has been on our radar since an impressive club season with Boltz, and she carried that same momentum into the Freshman Showcase. From the moment she stepped on the court, she demonstrated the qualities you want in a setter—confidence, composure, and a genuine commitment to elevating the players around her.   Rebecca does an outstanding job empowering her hitters, celebrating their success and continuing to trust herself when passes aren't perfect to make a play. She consistently finds ways to create quality attacking opportunities out of difficult situations, showcasing excellent decision-making, court awareness, and a strong feel for the game.   What impressed us most was her growth as a leader. Rebecca is beginning to command the floor with her communication, presence, and ability to keep her team connected throughout the match. Those intangibles, combined with her skill set, make her an exciting young setter, and we're looking forward to watching her continue to develop at Canyon View this high school season.     [player_tooltip player_id='941797' first='Christina' last='Fernandez'] was a steady and dependable presence in the back row throughout the showcase. She consistently found herself in the right position, stayed engaged on every rally, and provided the kind of stability every team looks for in a defender.   One of the biggest things that stood out was her ability to track down difficult balls off the block, turning challenging defensive plays into quality opportunities for her team. She anchored the backcourt with confidence, communicated exceptionally well, and always had her teammates' backs, whether it was through coverage, hustle, or leadership.   Christina's consistency, defensive instincts, and high-level communication make her a player we're excited to continue following as she heads into her high school season and another year of club volleyball. She's certainly a name to keep an eye on.     [player_tooltip player_id='879038' first='Camryn' last='Stillwell'] was one of the most impressive setters at the showcase, standing out with her quickness, athleticism, and ability to make plays on nearly every ball. No pass seemed too difficult for her to track down, and she consistently worked tirelessly to give her hitters quality opportunities to score.   Her ball delivery was exceptionally clean, showcasing polished technique, soft hands, and outstanding touch. Just as impressive was her decision-making—Camryn read the game well, made smart choices under pressure, and did an excellent job putting her hitters in positions to succeed.   With her high volleyball IQ, relentless work ethic, and ability to run an efficient offense, Camryn is the type of setter who elevates everyone around her. We're excited to watch her continue to develop at Hamilton and will be following her career closely over the next three years.     [player_tooltip player_id='910193' first='Camryn' last='Logan'] was an absolute joy to watch throughout the showcase and quickly became one of the most impressive attackers in the gym. Her hitting mechanics are incredibly polished, and it's easy to see the countless hours she's put into developing her game. From her efficient approach to her explosive jump and consistent technique, every part of her attack is fundamentally sound.   What stood out most was her ability to terminate regardless of the quality of the set. Whether the ball was perfect or out of system, Camryn found a way to make a play. She generates tremendous power with a fast, explosive arm swing, producing several attacks that genuinely made us stop and take notice.   Off the ball, Camryn carries herself with humility and quiet confidence, letting her play do the talking. Her combination of athleticism, work ethic, and physical ability makes her a player with tremendous upside, and we're excited to continue following her growth throughout her high school career.     [player_tooltip player_id='787775' first='Kendall' last='Klingenberg'] is no stranger to competing on the biggest stages, and every time we watch her play, she continues to impress. Fresh off helping lead her club team to a national runner-up finish, Kendall brought that same confidence and composure into the showcase.   Technically, she's one of the most polished setters in the state. Her jump setting is seamless, her touch on the ball is exceptional, and she consistently delivers a clean, hittable ball. What truly separates her, though, is her ability to manipulate the defense. Kendall does an outstanding job holding blockers with a neutral body position, making it nearly impossible to read where the ball is going until it's too late. Her deception creates quality one-on-one opportunities for her hitters and allows her offense to operate at a high level.   Combined with her high volleyball IQ and excellent decision-making, Kendall is the type of setter who elevates everyone around her. She has a proven track record of leading successful teams, and with her at the helm, Casteel has every reason to be excited about the upcoming high school season.     Ally Sprurlin is one of the most well-rounded setters we watched at the showcase. She consistently delivered an accurate, hittable ball and showed the strength to put up quality sets from nearly anywhere on the court. Even when the first contact wasn't ideal, Ally found a way to keep her hitters in rhythm and create scoring opportunities.   Her impact extended well beyond setting. Ally competed relentlessly on defense, making hustle plays that gave her team second chances and allowing her defenders to turn difficult situations into quality out-of-system opportunities. At the net, she also proved to be an effective blocker, using her timing and instincts to challenge opposing attackers.   Ally is the complete package—a setter who leads with consistency, athleticism, and a relentless competitive mindset. We're excited to watch her continue to develop and make an impact during her season at Shadow Mountain.     [player_tooltip player_id='888739' first='Kami' last='Penrose'] has been one of our favorite athletes to follow, and she continues to add new dimensions to her game every time we see her. She's long been a force in the front row, using her powerful arm swing and physical presence to impact matches offensively, but what has impressed us most is how complete her game has become.   After standing out with her back-row play at the Storm Showcase, Kami once again showcased her passing ability and all-around ball control at this event. She was excellent in serve receive, played outstanding off-blocker defense, and consistently covered her hitters with purpose. Those defensive improvements have elevated her from a talented attacker to a true six-rotation threat.   Kami has developed into the complete package as a pin hitter, combining offensive firepower with reliable back-row skills and a high volleyball IQ. We're excited to see how she continues to grow and the impact she'll make during the upcoming season at Casteel.     [player_tooltip player_id='916730' first='Kendyll' last='Ross'] came alive during the gameplay portion of the showcase, proving she's the type of athlete who embraces the biggest moments. She consistently made herself the go-to option, never shying away from the responsibility of finishing rallies and delivering when her team needed her most.   What impressed us most was her balance of power and volleyball IQ. Kendyll knows when to unleash a thunderous swing, but she's equally effective at mixing in smart shot placement to keep defenders guessing. Her athleticism at the net allows her to attack with confidence while also putting up a strong, disciplined block that impacts both sides of the game.   We've loved watching Kendyll develop during her time with Aspire, and it's clear she's continuing to elevate her game. With her competitiveness, physical tools, and ability to perform in key moments, we have no doubt she'll continue making waves throughout her volleyball career.    <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   The 2026 Summer Showcases were an incredible way to wrap up the club season, and we couldn't be more excited about the talent we saw on display. Thank you to every athlete, coach, and family who helped make these events such a success.
