Which Breakout Players Jumped into Our Nebraska 2028 Rankings?

Our Nebraska 2028 hierarchy has some new contenders.   The growth and evolution of our Nebraska 2028 rankings have been something to behold. We started with a humble watch list, brought in a small group of ranked players, and eventually expanded to include over 100 athletes in our numbered order. Through the entire process, we've always had a stacked watch list full of players on the cusp of joining the rankings. It's time to highlight the newest wave of breakthroughs.   Here are some watch list gems who took the next step in our latest update. We're about to discuss some athletes with serious impact potential this fall and beyond.    This was an easy one. Humann likely did enough to secure her rankings inclusion last fall, as she piloted the Omaha Roadrunners offense with around seven assists per set last fall. However, Humann took her stock to another level through her club tenure with Omaha Fusion. She guided this physical crew around the dial and brought her best during late-season action. That included a strong outing at the Great Plains Region Bid Tournament, paving the way for Humann's Gold bracket appearance at GJNC. That's plenty of summer momentum for a rankings bump.     Here's another familiar name from our recent coverage spotlight. Spangler first landed on our 2028 radar through her brilliant defensive work, but that's not the only thing she brought to the Premier Nebraska 16 Silver lineup. She also compiled plenty of reps at the net and showed her ability to score through power, finesse, and everything in between. This Millard West junior is especially good at working off of high hands and can drop roll shots directly into the campfire. Spangler's pass-to-attack prowess makes her an adaptable piece of any lineup.     Premier Nebraska 16 Red had several no-brainer candidates for rankings inclusion. Jorczak joins the movement after propelling her team through a thrilling qualifier slate this spring. Of course, this leads us to Jorczak's bevy of terminal moments as 16 Red secured a runner-up finish at Kansas City's Show Me Qualifier. She was a mainstay on the left pin and showed a knack for hammering through open seams. Jorczak is willing to tee off at any ball in her vicinity, and that's a surefire way to get noticed.     Let's go west! Rapp has garnered mention here before. We were taken aback by Wild West Volleyball Academy's top 17s crew at the GPR Bid Tournament, and Rapp made it easy to forget she was playing up a year. Her stout defensive plays set the standard throughout 2026, all the way to a trip to the Salt Lake City Showdown in late April. Rapp's next stop is Ogallala, last year's top seed in Class C1.     Marcinek continues to climb the ladder. She had the opportunity to run the offense for Nebraska Elite 16 Alpha at AAU Nationals, and this Bennington standout made the most of these top-tier reps. She brought strong, stable leadership to Orlando while also dishing out accurate location to her diverse group of attackers. Connecting under these circumstances can be daunting, but Marcinek has developed a strong foothold in the Nebraska Elite gym.     Nebraska ONE 16 Black joins the list of teams with growing representation in our rankings. Bell was a masterful distributor throughout 16 Black's numerous qualifier triumphs, including top-ten finishes at Windy City and the Show Me Qualifier. This savvy setter continued her ascent through USAV Nationals while exhibiting her knack for digging heat in the right-back area. Lincoln Northeast has a new wave of upperclassmen to lean on this fall.     We always have more defensive talent to draw from in the VCNebraska camp. Warnock was the "floor general" for VCN 16 Blue and made a big impression on the qualifier trail. This Lincoln Standing Bear junior offered maximum effort no matter where she was slotted into the 16 Blue lineup. However, her confident posture at the libero spot kept her in the contrasting jersey through much of the spring campaign. That's the kind of experience needed to lead Standing Bear into a new era of Star City contention.     We had to get Wemhoff in the mix after her brilliant regional outings with AVC 17 Blue. She has all the length, explosiveness, and range needed to play up an age group in the Antelope Volleyball Club gym. She joined a stacked 17 Blue lineup and secured the team's GJNC path through the Great Plains Region Bid Tournament. The fun was not limited to local venues, however. AVC's Indianapolis trip yielded a top-ten finish, securing Wemhoff's spot in the 2028 rankings.
