Southridge Varsity Showdown 2026: Standout Stars (Part 2)

The beginning of the 2026 high school season is Oregon is off to a great start with various matches and tournaments already in the books. Here's the follow-up to some of the great players who stood out on September 5th at the Southridge High School Varsity tournament in Beaverton to kickoff the 2026 high school season here in Oregon. She is does an excellent job setting against the flow in out of system situations and knows how to keep her opponent guessing on which hitter will get the ball, keeping them off balance. She also possesses strong passing and defensive skills, allowing her to be used as a defensive specialist/libero as well. She is a great leader for her team, and they definitely look to her in that capacity.     Blake dons a really nice arm swing, which allows her to bring power and authority to her attack. The 6'0 Western Oregon commit, has outstanding footwork in transition both on and off the net as well as from pin to pin. Having such a high touch point allows her to swing over the top of opponent blocks, but she knows when to swing in the seams or off the blocks to score points. She also shows a solid platform in her serve receive game.     Cameron is a six rotation BALLER for a freshman. Tall and strong. Extremely athletic. Has an vicious and smooth arm swing with outstanding snap on ball. She is for sure an player to keep an eye on in the future, as she is gonna really turn heads while she scores A LOT of points for the Bruins. She seemed to always have a smile on her face while she played. She really loves playing the game and can tell here teammates love playing with her.     Hinrichs is a really nice six rotation athlete. The senior plays with a lot of confidence in all facets of her game. Solid ball control both offensively with her swing and off-speed shots and defensively with her passing and digging skills. She moves really well both on an off the net as well as within the passing lanes. She is an excellent server and possesses outstanding leadership skills to help guide her team to success.     The 6'0 Brown, is a really solid middle hitter with outstanding closing steps along the net to finish blocks. Her amazing wingspan which allows her to reach to the pin and across the plane of the net. That reach also allows her to be able to reach above opponent blocks with her attack. She would also make for an excellent right side hitter. Loved seeing how much joy and energy she plays with as well.     Myers is slightly undersized at 5'9, but she is an extremely dynamic middle hitter. She is really smart at the net and swings the ball with a purpose. She is able to move the ball around really well, both with power or utilizing her off-speed game. She might also make an outstanding pin hitter or even as a defensive specialist who can hit out of the back court.     Curtis is nice little defensive specialist/libero. She has great instincts for the ball on defense and has solid ball control skills in the serve receive passing lanes. Extremely quick and agile. Reads really well. Solid platform and use of hands. Excellent server. She is a lot of fun to watch play!
