<p>We are just over the midpoint of the season. Some teams have 30 matches under their belt and the section seeding is starting to go from murky to partly cloudy. We're going to take a look at where teams stand in their section where seeding will be determined in a two weeks. Let's take a look. </p>

<p>To get into the sectional semifinal and win a regional championship is going to be tough in this conference. The top eight are all in the top 50 of D1 according to MaxPreps. Oconomowoc and Arrowhead are at the top of the group with plenty of history between the two programs. They have been conference and postseason rivals for years. Oconomowoc is the second ranked team behind DSHA and has gone 3-1 against the Dashers so far this year. However, Arrowhead bested Ocon 3-2 in their conference matchup. In that match Arrowhead was led by [player_tooltip player_id='774914' first='Natalie' last='Tarkowski'] who notched 17 kills while [player_tooltip player_id='509343' first='Taylor' last='Wold'] was the maestro of the offense and well as a defensive standout. Wold had 42 assists and 19 digs. For Oconomowoc, their balance of four players in double figure kills fell short. [player_tooltip player_id='745070' first='Avery' last='Bork'] led the way with 17 kills for the Raccoons. Let's not forget about Mukwonago. This team has been creeping their way up the rankings all season and recently finished fourth at the Lynn LaPorte Sprawl. They have conference wins over Arrowhead and Kettle Moraine while their lone conference loss was to Oconomowoc. For Mukwonago, they are led by junior [player_tooltip player_id='545511' first='Angelina' last='Dorow'] who is averaging over three kills per set as well as nearly three digs per set. Senior Emily Langue leads the way out of the backrow with 159 digs on the season. A team that could make some progress is Kettle Moraine. They have remaining conference matches against Oconomowoc and Arrowhead which beating one of them could put them in the top four. </p>

<p>This section is wide open with Franklin being the only team in the top 20 of the Max Preps rankings. Franklin is led by [player_tooltip player_id='545503' first='Kaitlyn' last='Marx'] who is averaging 3.6 kills per set and nearly four digs per set. She is a Butler commit and has played on the top Sting Gold teams where she has been an outside hitter and libero. [player_tooltip player_id='807736' first='Jasmine' last='Meyer'] is a senior libero who works well alongside Marx where these two always give Franklin a chance to be in system. Muskego has played a rigorous schedule and every match in the Classic 8 is going to be big, they have a key match against Franklin on October 8 which could have a big impact on seeding. [player_tooltip player_id='781421' first='Lily' last='George'] and [player_tooltip player_id='587090' first='Whitney' last='Jahimiak'] are leading the way for the Warriors. Burlington and Westosha Central are from the Southern Lakes Conference and have some college prospects on their roster. Burlington has [player_tooltip player_id='509328' first='Emma' last='Tenhagen'] (Northern Illinois) and [player_tooltip player_id='509327' first='Madelyn' last='Reesman'] (St Thomas) while Central has [player_tooltip player_id='435900' first='Payton' last='Scifres'] (Little Rock). Burlington has already defeated Westosha Central and lost a close one to Franklin 3-2. Westosha Central will host their Smash tournament with plenty of top teams that could give them an edge to secure a four seed. </p>

<p>There is going to be a lot of familiarity among the top teams in this section. DSHA has separated themselves from the rest of the group. However, no matter how you draw this section, it's essentially a Greater Metro Conference tournament with DSHA, Brookfield East, Tosa East, Hamilton, Falls, Brookfield Central, and Tosa West all coming from the GMC. Brookfield East has notched some big wins over the likes of Kimberly, Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin Lutheran, and Waunakee showing they can compete among the best in the state. They are led in scoring by [player_tooltip player_id='737776' first='Madelyn' last='Smith'] and [player_tooltip player_id='807844' first='Amelia' last='Olson']. Also, keep an eye on upstart freshman Addison Dwork. Tosa East got a key conference win against Sussex Hamilton 3-2 and will look for [player_tooltip player_id='545509' first='Sylvia' last='Flood'] to continue her big time scoring from the outside. Hamilton has quite the sophomore core in [player_tooltip player_id='734111' first='Claire' last='Baldwin'], [player_tooltip player_id='781698' first='Faith' last='Benson'], Kaitlyn Duehring, Kinsley Pogodzinski, and [player_tooltip player_id='771530' first='Kyah' last='Peterson']. The more this team plays, the more dangerous they become. </p>

<p>There are only six teams from the Top 100 of the Max Preps D1 rankings in this section where it looks like a two team race between Wisconsin Lutheran and Oak Creek. The past couple seasons Wisconsin Lutheran has always run into DSHA which this year they avoid the Dashers. All things go through setter/combo player [player_tooltip player_id='435889' first='Gigi' last='Chasco'] who will be heading to Florida Gulf Coast, she averages just over two kills per set while hitting .352, 3.1 digs, and has over 400 assists on the season. The Vikings also have St. Thomas commit [player_tooltip player_id='487025' first='Nicalai' last='Eismann'] scoring points on the outside and Illinois State commit [player_tooltip player_id='545510' first='Addy' last='Abramowski'] at libero. Wisconsin Lutheran did defeat Oak Creek the opening weekend at the Joust with both teams having rugged schedules all year long. Oak Creek is in the Classic 8 where they currently sit 4-0. They will have a big matchup next against Arrowhead. Oak Creek is led by Freshman [player_tooltip player_id='751366' first='Ashley' last='Yerkey'] who averages nearly three kills per set while UW-Whitewater commit [player_tooltip player_id='769244' first='Payton' last='Nelson'] averages four digs perset. </p>
