Nebraska 2028s Leaving Lasting Impression at GJNC (Pt. 2)

Recruiting buzz picked up when we hit the June 15th threshold, and rising juniors immediately pivoted to postseason play. This Bishop Neumann star was spectacular on the qualifier circuit, culminating in a bid upgrade through the Big South Qualifier. Postseason play added to Cada's rise as a go-to left-side hitter. 16 Elite leaned on her scoring prowess in Indianapolis, but that wasn't the only distinguishing element of Cada's game. She immediately meshed with her club squad after helping Omaha Concordia make a long-awaited climb into the Class C1 semifinals. We've seen Phillips thrive in multiple positions throughout her prep career, but her effectiveness behind the setter took precedence with 16 Black. She rotates into the Club Legacy 16 Alpha backcourt and maintains the smooth, precise operation that has made the team so successful. Better yet, 16 Alpha can grind through grueling rallies behind Osborne's lockdown right-back defense. She makes quick reads and even faster first steps, allowing 16 Alpha to stay ahead of tip shots. Clark took the lead on the left side in Indianapolis, especially during Fusion's three-set challenge-round gauntlet against Tulsa Power. She skies above opposing hands and can chisel down the line when given a small window. The Elkhorn South junior will inevitably emerge in our 2028 rankings after tremendous regional and national success with Fusion. The Aurora setter has turned heads no matter where she has suited up, from USAV Nationals to the Prep Dig Showcase circuit. She was even an all-tournament honoree during last year's trip to GJNC. So, we weren't surprised to see Hoff and her South Central NE 16 Black make a repeat postseason appearance this summer. 2026 brought a further climb up the divisional ladder with South Central NE winning the Great Plains Region Bid Tournament title. This opening-round gauntlet requires some reliable leadership, and Stutzman provided that for 16 Black. She had a knack for finding the hot hand in the front row and didn't shy away from forcing the middles. Spangler might be that "utility" player for Premier Nebraska 16 Silver. She has compiled an impressive highlight tape of accurate first touches and clutch passes in serve receive. However, Spangler also mixed in some of the pin-hitting power that makes her a compelling part of the lineup. Her fearless approach on the left antenna set the tone for the rest of 16 Silver's hitters, resulting in some thrilling matches in the late stages of USAV Nationals.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
