The last showcase event was held in Richmond. While I will not say that their participation in the Prep Dig Exposure event led to their commitment to college it can't hurt. It also takes effort from the player to make themselves known to the colleges that interest them. Informing the college that you earned a top performer award at a Prep Dig showcase certainly showcases your talent.

The MVP of last year's event [player_tooltip player_id='768375' first='Alexis' last='VerMeer'] recently committed to Iowa. She also did her due diligence by attending a college camp in Iowa. Two other Top Performers [player_tooltip player_id='720452' first='Brianna' last='Douglas'] committed to Randolph Macon while [player_tooltip player_id='725456' first='Audrey' last='Busch'] committed to Mary Washington. The Prep Dig showcases are only one of many vehicles an athlete can use to promote their talent.

A number of other top performers from Prep Dig showcases have also done well. Two Gatorade players of the year in Ema Djordjevic (Maryland) and [player_tooltip player_id='292644' first='Caycee' last='Chhum'] (DC). A United States Junior National team player and gold medalist in [player_tooltip player_id='296486' first='Taylor' last='Harrington'] (Penn State). [player_tooltip player_id='437441' first='Hunter' last='Ross'] (UCLA), [player_tooltip player_id='528707' first='Annika' last='Dandridge'] (Vanderbilt), [player_tooltip player_id='536721' first='Ana' last='Woods'] (UConn), [player_tooltip player_id='622282' first='Emerson' last='Wolfe'] (Houston) and [player_tooltip player_id='728971' first='Mandela' last='Masimini'] (Tulane) are other recent top performers committing to Division I programs. However, it takes more than just winning a top performer award to earn these college opportunities. It takes talent and perseverance to make yourself known then achieving assignable goals the athlete set for her career, i.e. identifying colleges of interest, earning top performer, all tournament team or MVP accolades. Even earning a selection as an on court captain is a noteworthy achievement.

For the Stock up showcase there are some returning top performers. [player_tooltip player_id='766895' first='Neely' last='Olish'] was a middle when she won a top performer award at the frosh showcase. Now she returns as a setter. [player_tooltip player_id='762823' first='Brie' last='Mouton'] and [player_tooltip player_id='781700' first='Gianna' last='Bonnett'] also won frosh top performer awards. Ironic that when Brie transferred to Metro from BAVA it was [player_tooltip player_id='766895' first='Neely' last='Olish'] who took her place as the 5/1 setter for BAVA.

On the frosh show case [player_tooltip player_id='849196' first='Leyla' last='Landry'], [player_tooltip player_id='944759' first='Nyla' last='Mclaurin'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1001180' first='Liana' last='Lipscomb'] have registered. All three earned a spot on the All Tournament team at the USAV Junior Nationals for leading [program_tooltip program_id='476729' first='Paramount' last=''] Jazz 14 to the Gold in the American Division. Two of their older teammates [player_tooltip player_id='554770' first='Rujuta' last='Singh'] and [player_tooltip player_id='569865' first='Eireni' last='Scott'] also won frosh top performer awards a couple years ago. They also made the all tournament team playing for [program_tooltip program_id='476729' first='Paramount' last=''] Maureen 16 and leading them to a second place finish in the National Division of Junior Nationals.

Looking forward to watching all the athletes participating. It is good to see a number of new names on the list as well. Perhaps this will lead to new players in our rankings.
