Canby Varsity Tournament 2026: MORE Impact Players

This past weekend, seven various 5A/6A teams all converged in Canby Oregon, south east of Portland for a late-season varsity tournament to try to earn some much needed experience and wins as the state heads towards post season play in the next couple weeks. Here's the follow-up article of some of the other outstanding players who stood out at this event on October 17th at Canby High School. O'Donnell, a transfer from Texas, sure does have a powerful arm swing on her attacks. She can hit anywhere on the court, but seems to love to swing hard down the line. But at the same time, she is extremely smart on the court, knowing exactly when she needs to pull out an unexpected and clever off-speed shot to score those needed points for her team. She is a fabulous six-rotation player, who can bring the heat from the 3-meter attack line as well as crank out a great top-spin jump serve from behind the end line.

IG - @natalie_vb_2027

Cory is a very smooth player in the middle. She has excellent transition skills both offensively as well as a defender on the net. She can run a great slide off one foot behind the setter all the way to the right pin. She has a very fast arm swing and can find the seam of the block as well as holes within the defense. She is an outstanding blocker, closing real well to pin blockers or putting up a quick and huge one-on-one wall. Has really nice penetration on the block, meaning that she is explosive off the jump and fast with her arms for push into the opposite side of the net.

IG - @charlottecory_vb

CANBY HS

Robles does a ton of things for her team — hitting, blocking, passing, defense, and providing excellent leadership. She is a very strong hitter on the left side with a smooth, aggressive arm swing and is quick off the jump. A solid blocker to shut down hitting lanes as well as picking up great digs when in the back court on defense. Very consistent in her serve-receive passing skills, she also has a nice serve to keep opponents off-balance and getting them out of system often.

IG - @jayceerobless

NORTH SALEM HS

Owens brings a lot of heat behind her solid arm swing. She moves really well in transition, on and off the net, and can get up off the floor with speed. She does an outstanding job of moving the ball around the block to find ways to score for her team. To add to her offensive game, Owens brings some great blocking skills to the table. She gets great penetration at the net to shut down hitter lanes.

IG - @naleia27_
