Dumas was a bright spot in a match in which most of Tompkins’ players couldn’t perform at their usual levels. The senior had her setting duties made difficult because of the team’s passing struggles, but still managed to remain precise and feed her hitters with good sets. She had good moments offensively and, on multiple occasions, scored in moments whee the Falcons were struggling, putting them back in the game. She also contributed a blocks and some digs.

The senior’s excellent decision-making in every aspect of the game led her to have a nearly perfect performance against a strong Friendswood team. Dumas featured in her usual dual role as a setter and right side hitter and used her vision to produce in both areas. She ran a very efficient offense, feeding the right hitters at the right times and moving them around when she had a chance. Dumas did great when dealing with tight passes, using her length and skilled left hand to score on setter dumps. Offensively. she was smart enough to not challenge Friendswood’s big blocking and was very productive with tips and rolls hots. The senior ended the match with 12 assists, seven kills, seven digs and one block, in a great all-around performance.

Dumas’ intelligent playmaking helped her team AVA TX 17 Adidas rank third in the event, with four wins and two losses. Last weekend’s performance was probably among the best I’ve ever seen from her as besides remaining precise as usual, the setter was excellent with her distribution and never put a foot wrong with her choices – she used her strong middles as much as she could and didn’t overload the team’s main scorer, keeping her fresh for critical moments. Dumas was also very creative when she had to improvise and had success in most of her attempts. The setter had a good blocking presence and made nice runs from the service line.

Dumas’ AVA TX 17 Adidas will be one of eight Texas teams in action in the 17 Open division. An extremely well-rounded player, she’s been excellent for them this season, working extremely well with their talented group of hitters and making the most of each of them. Dumas is very intelligent in terms of when using her athletic middles and keeps opposing blockers guessing all day. A lefty, she’s a threat with her setter dumps too and can also offer a strong blocking and hitting presence at the net. Dumas works very hard on defense as well and can generate several transition plays every match.

Dumas was excellent at running AVA TX 17 Adidas’ offense and helped her team win seven of its nine matches and secure a third-place finish in the 17 Open division. She was running her middles very well and that facilitated her entire offense, giving her pin hitters more room to operate. The left-handed setter was also a strong presence at the net, contributing to the team’s offense with her setter dumps and playing aggressively with her blocking. She was also very active defensively and got several touches on defense.

A new addition to Tompkins this season, Dumas was very involved with the team’s production against a strong Seven Lakes team. As with most of her teammates, her game had ups and downs during the match but she stepped up and was outstanding when it mattered the most, at the end. Dumas was very good in her dual setting/hitting role, making excellent decisions with her distribution and siding out a good rate, besides helping in serve-receive occasionally. She was nearly flawless from the fourth set on, getting a block and having a strong serving run that laid the groundwork for Tompkins’ comfortable victory in the tie-breaker, which was sealed with a clutch setter dump from her.

The heart and soul of Paetow in her first two years of high school volleyball, Dumas has moved within the district and will strengthen direct opponents Tompkins in the upcoming season. Her great all-around game will be a huge addition to her new team, which will be looking to find a new identity after graduating some influential seniors after playing in the State Tournament final just a few months ago. A very creative and aggressive player on the court, Dumas is running the offense of her strong AVA TX 16 Adidas team. Despite having only moved to the club this season, she has already developed great chemistry with her hitters and is doing a very good job in getting the best out of them. A lefty, Dumas is very skilled on the ball and can hit and score on setter dumps too. She’s also very strong physically and that allows her to explode to get to balls on defense.

She has already proved to be a great addition to the team, running the team’s offense in an excellent way. Dumas is very strong physically and she takes full advantage of it, getting quickly to the ball and pushing it to any location regardless of where she is. She’s a very smooth player overall and can perform every skill, including hitting and blocking, at a very good level. A lefty, Dumas plays very aggressively at the net and is also a solid defender and server for her team.
