Koss was Stratford’s most consistent player during the match and played a clean game, with very few errors. She was a solid offensive option to the Spartans, scoring at a good rate from the left and the middle back position and did a great job with her shot selection. The junior outside hitter also handled her backcourt duties extremely well, passing at a very high level and coming up with important digs. Koss’ all-around game was one of the foundations for Stratford’s solid display, helping the team in different areas.

The junior outside hitter stepped up in the absence of Hickman and embraced a larger offensive role than she typically has with great success. Koss was always available to swing and managed to score at a good clip – her swings from the middle back position were always very well-placed. She appeared in nice combination plays and made good decisions in difficult situations, but still ended up getting blocked on a few occasions, which was to expect considering her big offensive load. Despite having to carry the team offensively, she was as solid as usual on the backcourt, keeping her passing steady and efficient and coming up with big digs.

With Hickman out, Koss was Stratford’s main offensive player and she certainly didn’t disappoint, displaying great efficiency from the start to the end of the match. The junior outside hitter was set at the pin, at the right, at the middle back position and was particularly efficient hitting a quick combination play in the middle when at the net. She was very reliable and showed great variation and plenty of resources to put the ball down. The larger offensive role didn’t take anything from her usual backcourt efficiency as Koss was very stable with her passing and very active playing defense at the middle back position.

Division 15 Bid contenders HJV 15 Elite have one of the strongest groups of outside hitters in the event and, although they are all very skilled in different areas of the game, Koss is probably the one that best puts everything together. Her size and power make of her one of the team’s top offensive players and, regardless if she’s at the net or in the back, she’s probably the one getting set when the game is on the line. Koss makes contact with the ball at a very high point and holds nothing back in her swings, but it’s her excellent decision-making that makes of her such a strong offensive player. Also very technical, she’s a defensive stud as well, displayed great consistency with her passing and playing good defense.

One of the standouts of our recent Prep Dig Top 250 Expo in Houston, Koss showed once again she’s one of the most exciting pin hitters coming up in the Houston area. She’s a very complete player, combining great size and physical tools with a very-well developed game, which made of her one of the centerpieces in the HJV 15 Elite team that won the division. Koss is a talented offensive player, who scores off of difficult sets and is very efficient hitting from the middle back, but is also impressively reliable with her passing and productive on defense.
