We collected 25 athletes and all of them are on the way to making their mark on the prep scene over the next four years. Let’s take a look at 5 middle blockers that are showing a lot of early promise.
You can find Hoecke consistently playing up an age level for club. This year you will find her playing for MN Select 16-1. In 2022 she was named to the AVCA Phenom Watchlist and trained with USAV National Training Development Program in the Spring. Hoecke isn’t just a big presence at the net with an impressive block but she is disciplined in transition and does a great job getting off the ground quickly and arms ready to pull the trigger on the quick tempo set.

Raveling is a fresh face that I originally found as a middle but I’ve also now seen playing on either pin. She does a really solid job anywhere along the net as a blocker and she can attack from anywhere on the court including the backrow. Raveling presents a very exciting future for Prior Lake along with fellow freshmen Sidney Burley Sidney Burley 5’8″ | DS/L Prior Lake | 2026 State MN and Kaitlyn Westerholm.
Soiney caught my attention at the X this past fall. You really need to put a double block up on her because she works around a single block with ease and doesn’t leave much for a defender to work with. She puts up a strong block and when she attacks she find the corners and edges of the court. Even more impressive would be her ability to infuse energy into her team. She is really a fun player to watch and it’s no wonder she was named to the Class A All-State Tournament Team.
White put up some big numbers in her freshman campaign for Kittson County. She tallied 217 kills, 30 aces, and 44 blocks. White is long and athletic with a great vertical and high contact point. Her reach takes up a lot of space at the net and her fast armswing adds a lot of power to her attack. Last summer, White played up with an 18s team, the KCC Bearcats which gave her a lot of opportunities that have definitely paid off.

Worwa is an exciting prospect as a 6’2 middle blocker. She will be able to use that length to her advantage on the club scene with Northern Lights. Worwa also has the athleticism to really take her size to another level.
