Kurth has a lot of length and a long reach. She has good instincts at the net and is a proven asset both offensively and defensively. Kurth has really good timing on her swing to get on top of the ball at its peak and work different angles.
Zweber does a great job timing the quick attack and working the deep corners. She takes a nice full swing and takes care of anything close to the net. Zweber works the angles off the block and takes a nice slide approach.
Slusser can terminate from anywhere on the net. She takes a big swing from the pins and she reaches high and slices the ball down the net or works angles off the block. Slusser has a high reach and can go over the block or use the edges.
Mattes is an intimidating force at the net. She takes care of anything that approaches her airspace. Mattes shoots her hands over the net to seal and actively working the slide route.
Kelzenberg is a work horse in the middle and she is consistently making sure she is available to attack even when the play is getting hinky. She works hard to close the block and protects the net. Kelzenberg has good reactions and can play defense after serving or take the short seerve before transitioning to take a big swing.
Highlights
Adler is a lefty and normally you would expect to see her on the right side which she does play sometimes but she just seems a little more comfortable in the middle. She can speed up her armswing to expose a block that is late or she can slice to either angle. Adler has a long wingspan and can reach just about anything!
Schmidt has made some nice strides in her game over the past couple years. She is showing more “pow” in her attack and quicker footwork to the ball. Schmidt is blessed with some size but maintains the ability to be pretty laterally quick .
