We're into holiday season. No, that's not a new part of the club volleyball scene, just something we came up with to keep those volleyball juices flowing. Here are eleven setters from three different graduating classes that are still available to run either a 5-1 or a 6-2 at the next level.

Class of '25

Of the four setters listed here, none have shown a more relentless attitude toward the craft of setting than [player_tooltip player_id='173245' first='Isabelle' last='Brown'] ('25, 5-9, Avon, Circle City). Without complaint, Miss Brown will go through every wall to get every pass, no matter how shanked it is. Her ability to go get sets that are passed tight makes her appear taller than she actually is. Just for good measure, she's a great kid, too. [player_tooltip player_id='435484' first='Kyla' last='Coolman'] ('25, 5-10, Penn, NIVA) has the tools and the talent to run things right now at the next level. Her appearance at last year's Showcase got her well onto our radar, and she's done nothing but hone her craft ever since. I like her ability to play defense at the position---not too many of those types in the setting position in this state in any class. [player_tooltip player_id='155212' first='Aysa' last='Thomas'] ('25, 5-10, Brownsburg, Academy) is a recent transfer from Rev to Academy, and should shoulder the load running a 5-1 for the Tsunami (17-1) this spring. Her athleticism is off the charts, she's very fast, and her footwork is nearly perfect. [player_tooltip player_id='192098' first='Haiden' last='Means'] ('25, 5-9, Scottsburg, Union) does everything well. She serves tough and can pick on weak passers. She blocks well enough to make her defense relax a bit by slowing the ball down. Her hands are high and her sets are exactly where they need to be not only for the hitter but for the situation as well. As with any Union athlete, Miss Means is yet another with a high volleyball IQ that has a ton of technical skill that travels to the next level well.

Class of '26

For lack of a better term, [player_tooltip player_id='210192' first='Lexi' last='Shondell'] ('26, 5-8, McCutcheon, Boiler Juniors) has that "it" factor. She has the bloodline of exceptional volleyball (Uncle is head coach at Purdue, sister just signed with Purdue). Her knowledge of the game is so much more mature than her fellow classmates. Her footwork is impeccable. She defends her position well. In short, a strong and silent leader is what you'll get from Lexi. [player_tooltip player_id='300206' first='Sophia' last='Gisslen'] ('26, 5-9, Carroll, [program_tooltip program_id='430155' first='Team' last='Pineapple']) has high and quick hands, gets to every ball, is probably the most sound blocker of the setters in this class, and has always been a part of a winning tradition. A winner with high-level skill is Sophia's calling card, and her abilities can only improve from here. [player_tooltip player_id='209451' first='Maddie' last='Carnes'] ('26, 5-11, Springs Valley, Union) received Second Team All-State honors this past fall, and did a little of everything for her high school squad. She can attack if needed, runs an exceptional offense when setting, defends her position well----we've seen this before, right? Oh yeah, she's a Union kid, so of course she has a high volleyball IQ. [player_tooltip player_id='252404' first='Addie' last='Haberthy'] ('26, 5-11, Roncalli, Circle City) is a long and lean setter that can run a fast offense right now at the next level. Her ability to block is probably the most refined on this list of setters, in any class. She earned All-Conference accolades this past fall, and led her Royals squad to a semi state appearance as well. Her body control is exceptional for someone her size and age, and plays with a calm demeanor that is far more mature than her age suggests.

Class of '27

[player_tooltip player_id='435850' first='Anabelle' last='Schembra'] ('27, 5-9, Center Grove, Team Indiana) approached her freshman season with all of the fire and determination of a kid fighting to keep her spot. By the end of her high school rookie season, she was running the show with no signs of ever giving it up again. Fast and athletic, Miss Schembra is a ball of fire not only in her speedy athleticism, but in her intensity with her teammates. She's constantly high energy, and that fire rubs off on her teammates, making the whole squad better than the sum of their parts. [player_tooltip player_id='435149' first='Reagan' last='Crabtree'] ('27, 5-7, Lutheran, Munciana) might look lithe, but she plays all out with all of the energy and skill of someone much bigger and much older. Her hands are high, making them quite deceptive. Even the out-of-system balls she has to chase down become more hittable in any situation. [player_tooltip player_id='443838' first='Claire' last='Ducey'] ('27, 5-7, Guerin Catholic, [program_tooltip program_id='431513' first='Munciana' last='Indy']) spent her time on the JV squad for the Golden Eagles this past fall, but still showed out at a Showcase last year. Her hands and feet worked together to keep her hitters in the best situations, she played defense well for her position, and has all of the tools and talent to help run a 6-2 next fall at Guerin. Who knows? Maybe her [program_tooltip program_id='431513' first='Munciana' last='Indy'] training gets her to take over the position at GC.

We're into holiday season. No, that's not a new part of the club volleyball scene, just something we came up with to keep those volleyball juices flowing. Here are eleven setters from three different graduating classes that are still available to run either a 5-1 or a 6-2 at the next level.
